Marvel Rivalsis rarely on a winning streak when it comes to new skins. For some, it knocks them out of the park, and people are more than happy to fork over some cash. But increasingly,we’re seeing fans complainthat some arejust too boring, and aresometimes worse than the default skins.
Unfortunately, one that fans ofThe Punisherwould have been looking forward to appears to be the latter category. Because, at long last, Frank Castle has his ownMCU skin, but it might not have been worth the wait at all.
The Punisher’s MCU Skin In Marvel Rivals Looks Pretty Similiar To His Default Costume
As you can see, the MCU skin - which is based on Punisher’s look in Daredevil: Born Again - is basically just a darker recolour of his default skin. In fact, it’s actually got less going on than the default, since it scrubs off his skull face paint. It makes it a decent skin for minimalists, I suppose? Although you’d hope we’d at least get a likeness to Jon Bernthal as a tradeoff.
Many fans are pointing out that this skin could have been made much more exciting if they included his iconic trench coat, which MCU Daredevil has indeed worn before. On the whole, it makes the skin look pretty low effort to use so much of the default skin in its design, especially whenother MCU skinsdo make the characters look very different from their Marvel Rivals appearances.
However, those defending the skin point out that thisdoeslook exactly like an outfit he wears in Daredevil: Born Again. I guess it’s not Marvel Rivals' fault that the guy doesn’t have a whole lot of variety in his wardrobe, unlike other characters on the roster. But c’mon, no trench coat? Really?
The skin will go live in Marvel Rivals this Thursday. We don’t know how much this one will cost right now, but hopefully, it will be on the lower end of the scale.
