Summary

Ultron has finally come toMarvel Rivalswith the Season 2.5 update, but it seems he has taken the community by surprise. When the character and his specs were initially revealed before the update, players weren’t too excited. Many felt that the damage and healing numbers were too low, and the iconic villain would become a rarely selected character.

As NetEase has been known to do, it took the community’s opinions into consideration and buffed Ultron a day after the update. As you’d expect,Ultron is now one of the best characters in the game, with a very high win percentage. Some even consider him to be too powerful and are regretting their initial complaints.

Ultron Is Too Powerful

“In my first game with the guy I got MVP, got twelve assists, was doing good damage to everything that wasn’t a tank, out-dueling the enemy team’s Iron Man (who was actually pretty good),” said a post byForgefiend_Georgeon Reddit. Ultron is already dominating matches, thanks to the last-minute buffs that the community demanded.

“Ultron is really good if the team is good and isn’t just feeding damage that you need a lot of burst heals to correct,” said a comment. “If you play against a team with high damage output and tanks that require a lot of healing (Groot, The Thing). He becomes difficult to play unless you’re in a 3 support cone. I think he’s in a pretty good spot right now.”

“Once I had an Ultron who healed less than me, did less damage than me, but somehow still got the MVP. It seems really easy to farm MVP with him,” said another player. One more comment pointed out that “it seems like Ultron farms MVP like crazy because he can assist a lot, [area of effect] heals, and do adequate damage a.k.a. stat farming.”

Not too long ago,NetEase was praised for listening to community feedbackabout themid-season ranked reset. Eventually, players came to regret their decisionto push back against it. It’s clear that NetEase knows what it’s doing. While there are other cases, like the zombie Doctor Strange skin, that the community was justified to push back on, it seems the devs know what they’re doing when it comes to gameplay and balance.
