WhileMarvel Rivalsplayers have no shortage of fan service, the key is to strike a balance between those who like the characters and those you really really like the characters. The game has been doing well on both fronts, with iconic comic book skins for the former, andcaked up character designsfor the latter.
However, the Summer Special Event, which will launch on July 18, is clearly targeted at the latter. Our favorite heroes and villains will strip down to their swimming costumes for the event, and you can be sure that they’re going to be raunchy as hell. In factwe’ve already got a sneak peek at some of them. However, what you may not have expected is that the star of the show isn’t Psylocke or Emma Frost, but the God of Mischief himself, Loki.
Loki’s Got Everyone Looking Down
It seems Loki knows how to have fun at the beach. His Robe of Relaxation skin swaps out his cape for a long robe made out of what looks like alligator skin. Instead of his iconic helm, he’s got a sun hat with horns and even flipflops with horns to go with the horns on his staff. That’s nine horns in total, if you’re counting the one in his Speedo.
As you’d expect, it’s a hit with the fans. “The devs clearly know the type of people that Main Loki,” said a Reddit post byExtreme-Chipmunk-868. “I think the devs had a little too much fun with this one.” If you can manage to take your eyes off the main attraction, the overall look is pretty fun too.
“Huh, so that’s where he keeps the dagger he uses to attack enemies from behind,” said one of the comments. “I do really love that they are making all the characters hot and not just the women - sincerely, a bisexual person,” said another. Usually it’s the girls that get all the attention, but clearly NetEase wanted to change that.
“The devs are setting unrealistic standards for men. Where the hell am I supposed to find a bathing outfit as luxurious as this? And in green?” pointed out another player, who clearly appreciates Loki’s beach fit above everything else.
More swimsuit looks will probably be revealed soon, but that’s a big hurdle to mount.
