Marvel RivalsSeason 3.5 is fast approaching, and with it comesa bunch of new team-ups. Luna Snow is getting a team-up with Adam Warlock that is going to make unkillable (yay), while both Loki and Groot’s existing abilities will be improved thanks to a new team-up with Mantis. Star Lord is also being added to the Rocket Raccoon Network team-up, and he’s arguably been given the scariest ability of them all.

If you saw the developer blog posted a couple of days ago, you’ll know that Star Lord is getting a teleporter in his team-up with Rocket Raccoon. It seems to be a destructable object, like Peni Parker’s nests and Rocket’s rez beacon, which will allow Star Lord to teleport to the location in which it’s placed. It seemed pretty innocuous at the time, but it’s a lot more terrifying now that streamers have tested it out.

Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Has Turned Star Lord Into Sombra

In these streams, it was discovered that this teleporter has infinite range, meaning it’s very easy for Star Lord to place it down in a safe area, fly around to your backlines to harass your healers, and then instantly teleport out when things get spicy. Yes, Marvel Rivals really thought it was a good idea to put the Overwatch 2 boogeywoman Sombra in the game.

Sombra is by far the most detested and banned character in Overwatch 2at the moment, not due to her power but because of how annoying she is in general. She constantly harasses backlines, she’s very difficult to actually kill if in the hands of a good player that knows when to disengage, and now Star Lord is going to become a psuedo-Sombra in Marvel Rivals.

He’s arguably even scarier too, as it was also recently discovered byMarvel Rivals and Overwatch streamer Flatsthat Star Lord can also use this teleporter during his ult. you may literally cancel the ultimate startup animations by using the teleporter, effectively tricking players into thinking it’s coming from one direction, while almost silently using it somewhere else. It’s going to be miserable, and Star Lord has just joined Black Panther and Wolverine on my list of permabans for Season 3.5.
