If you managed to get aNintendo Switch 2without yourpre-order getting cancelledorGameStop ruining your screen with a staple pin, you’re probablyzooming aroundinMario Kart World. By now, you must have realised that the new features, 24 racer lineups, and winding tracks are a recipe for chaos, with shells, fireballs, rivals, and other itemsconstantly crashing into you.
While the level of chaos has been amped up from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it seems Nintendo thinks it’s still not enough. In the game’s first update, thepatch notesread “Fixed an issue where items were no longer able to be used.” So, if you think the Mario Kart World’s races were too much for you to handle, things are only getting dialed up.
Mario Kart World Update 1.1.1 Makes Races More Chaotic
You may be thinking how these races could possibly get more intense, especially when there’s something or the other flying past you at all times. It seems there was an issue where certain items weren’t getting used in the way they were supposed to. With this update, the other racers will be able to use those items as intended, making your life just a bit harder.
While that’s the stand out fix of the update, there is more that it has fixed as well. A few of them are related to the game shutting down at certain times, while others are focussed on bugs during races, like wall clipping and Lakitu placing you in the wrong spot after falling off. Others were related to rate fluctuations and communication errors.
However, the first fix sure is a strange one, because some players have beencomplaining about how items are constantly being thrown at them, without getting any time to actually race. Other complaints about Mario Kart World includeLakitu being too strict when players go off the trackeven a little bit. The Koopa in the clouds swoops down and brings you back for even the smallest infractions, no matter how cool the move you pulled off is.
