The first proper gameplay trailer forMafia: The Old Countrywas just shared at PAX East, giving us our best look yet at Enzo’s life in the mob and confirming the previously leaked release date.
Although nearly all of theoxygen in the room has been taken up by Grand Theft Auto 6 when it comes to Take-Two’s upcoming releases, the publisher has a ton of other exciting games coming this year.Borderlands 4 instantly jumps to mind, but the most interesting for my money is theMafia: The Old Country.
Since it was originally revealed at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase last year, we’ve only had one more trailer for The Old Country thatmostly focused on the game’s story and 1900s setting. Still, with the promised “Summer 2025” release date nearing its head, Take-Two has finally given us a bit more to go on with a dedicated gameplay trailer.

Enzo’s Definitely Cut Out For This Line Of Work
The gameplay trailer for Mafia: The Old Country was shorter than you might have expectedconsidering all of the teases surrounding it, but it still gave us plenty to go off of. Beyond giving us another look at the game’s beautiful in-engine graphics, we finally got proper footage of Enzo in action, which looks similar to Hangar 13’s other Mafia games.
The heavier focus on stealth is very reminiscent of Mafia 3, although hopefully a little more engaging this time around.
Beyond showing off plenty of gunfights, stealth kills, and general Mafia chaos, we also saw Enzo exploring some caves, riding around on a horse, and driving a car through some fields. The jury’s still out on just how linear The Old Country is going to be, but it certainly seems to at least give you a few opportunities to explore the world.
Uniquely, one of the most notable things about the trailer is just how much emphasis there is on melee combat and the use of knives. Enzo’s shown using one when in close-quarters during a cinematic fight, but he’s also shown throwing a knife at an unsuspecting enemy and using it in his stealth takedowns. That should be a nice change of pace from Mafia’s usual focus on guns.
To nobody’s surprise, Take-Two also took the chance to confirm that Mafia: The Old Country is going to launch on August 8.This was previously leaked by Steam a few weeks agoand matched the Summer 2025 claim, so it didn’t really come as a surprise to see it confirmed here once and for all.
