Summary

Usually, if you want to get your hands onLego’s Minifigures, you have to buy its sets. However, since 2010, it has been selling them separately. Not just any of them, but select characters, some of them licensed, as part of CMF (collectible Minifigures) series. It’s been rumored for a while that the Spider-Verse movies might be getting a CMF series, and a leak has provided a first look at it.

UniBricksappears to have been the source of the leak, sharing the news on their YouTube channel. The image they’ve managed to get their virtual hands on has quickly been shared far and wide on social media and features 12 Minifigures, all of which are based on variants ofSpider-Manfrom the latest movie in what will eventually be a trilogy, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

There was a time when the third movie, Beyond The Spider-Verse, was slated to release in March 2024. Now we’ll be lucky if it’s here by 2027.

The 12 Minifigures naturally include the second movie’s core characters, soMiles Morales, Gwen, and Peter Parker, who has an even mini-er Mayday figure strapped to his chest. Based on the reactions I’ve seen to the leaks, there’s a lot of excitement forSpider-Punk’s inclusion in the set, and of course,Spider-Man 2099 and Spider-Man India, who both play big roles in the most recent movie, also make the cut.

The Most Concrete Evidence Yet That Collectible Spider-Verse Minifigures Are Coming

Some Of Which Will Kind Of Have Masks You Can Remove Thanks To Their Interchangeable Heads

Spider-Byte is in there too, as are some deeper cuts from Across The Spider-Verse, includingWerewolf Spider-Man and Web-Slinger. Not only do some of the figures come with accessories or companions - Web-Slinger has a Spider-Horse Minifigure by his side - but seven of the 12 figures shown have interchangeable heads.

Most Spider-Man variants wear masks, which means they have two distinct looks. Potentially tricky waters for Lego to navigate, so the inclusion of a spare head with the figures that need one is very welcome, provided this leak is accurate, of course. Miles, Gwen, Spider-Man 2099, and some of the other figures in the series will have a masked head and an unmasked head for you to change whenever you see fit.

Again, this is a leak for now, so it should be taken with a pinch of salt. However, it seems about as real as something like this can feel without Lego deeming it official. There’s also a very real chance that this is only part of a potential Spider-Verse CMF series. Some series, like the one celebrating 100 years of Disney, included 18 characters. However, most, including last year’s Dungeons & Dragons series, had 12 figures to collect.
