The tried and true formula ofMario Partyis making its way into the world ofLEGO, as it’s been revealed that LEGO Party will be coming out in 2025 for thePlayStation,Xbox,NintendoandPCviaSteam.
As part of Friday’sSummer Game Festevent, Fictions and SMG Studio announced LEGO Party, a title that is exactly what its namesake implies. It’s a Mario Party meets the colorful characters of LEGO, with LEGO-themed minigames in place of, well, Mario-themed ones.
The one-minute-long trailer showed some of the colorful cast that will be part of the game, including Ninjago characters, as well as some of the minigames that will be part of the title, including some LEGO-themed takes on some classic Mario Party fare. Additionally, players will be moving around on a board modeled after LEGOs, because, of course, with the goal being to collect as many Gold Bricks as possible.
Mario Party Clones Have Been Rather Popular As Of Late
For what it’s worth, this wouldn’t be the first time that Mario Party has been copied by another IP. Last year,Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep The Board, a — you guessed it — Demon Slayer-themed take on the Mario Party formula, was released. Of course,Mario Party Jamboree launched last year, andwith the Switch 2 now officially out, it hasan upgrade path that will make use of the new peripherals.
LEGO Party was one of several announcements or updates provided during Friday’s SGF presentation, whichalso included a new Scott Pilgrim game, as well asa gameplay trailer for the next Onimusha. Oh, andResident Evil 9, which has now been titled Resident Evil Requiem.
