Summary
Kingdom Hearts 4might not be as far behind in its development as we all assumed, as a voice actor has randomly claimed that they’ve done some voiceover work for the game already.
Ever since it was originally announced all the way back in 2022, Kingdom Hearts 4 has been completely missing in action. WhileFinal Fantasy 7 fans had plenty to go off of as Square Enix was oddly openabout the trilogy’s development status,Kingdom Hearts fans have had to wait in the wings for any kind of announcement or update.
Well, a few weeks ago,we finally got that update in the form of seven new screenshots of the gamethat were released to seeminglymake up for Missing Link’s sudden cancellation. Even with some news on the long-awaited game finally being shared, most of us haveassumed that Kingdom Hearts 4 is still a long way from being released. That might not actually be the case, though.
Kingdom Hearts 4 Might Have Already Started Work On Its English Dub
Looks Like It’s Not Quite In Development Hell
Yesterday,Twitter user and voice actor ZaccActs decided to randomly drop a bombshell on every Kingdom Hearts fanby suggesting that they’ve done some voiceover work for the English dub of Kingdom Hearts 4. ZaccActs even seemed to know that what they revealed was big news,as they clarified that they’d gotten permission to share their involvement in KH4without giving any more details away.
While ZaccActs obviously can’t give any proof as to what they’re claiming, they have done a lot of voiceover work for other projects in recent years, so it doesn’t seem like they’d randomly lie about something like Kingdom Hearts 4. The fact that English voiceover work has already started is a good sign, though, as it suggests the game is further along in development than we assumed.
We have no idea what role ZaccActs has in the game, so it could be anything from a major character to some NPCs in Quadratum. It’s a good sign nonetheless, though.
In most cases, voiceover work is something that’s done later in a game’s development cycle. English dubbing for a Japanese game is particularly done late, so it seems like work on Kingdom Hearts 4 is trucking along nicely. With that in mind, it doesn’t seem too out there to suggest we might even get a trailer or announcement in the near future.
