Mods will allow you to alter a gun’s characteristics, potentially increasing damage, penetration, or fire rate. Doing so will require resources, though these can be easily acquired during your various missions. Here’s how to best customize your weapons as you slaughter the Zed hordes.

How To Craft Weapon Mods

Weapon mods arecrafted using the resources you earn from killing enemies and finishing missions. The complete list includes:

Once youcollect the required amount, you canuse these itemsto make different ammunition types, gun sights, magazines, and more.Go to the armory, where you’ll be shownhow much of each resource is requiredto make your preferred mods. You’ll also be toldhow much a mod will cut into your operational budget, giving you something else to consider while you try to customize a weapon to your liking.

Once you create a mod, you can use it with any other compatible guns. For example, if you craft an Electric Ammo mod and decide it won’t work with your X295 Wraith build, you can unequip it and slot it into a different weapon of your choosing.

Mods, just like skills,can be upgradedat the cost of additional resources. These enhancements willgenerally increase any applicable bonusesand may helpshrink any associated penalties.

Upgrading a mod to the max tier will unlock a bonus ability andgrant you the Maximalist trophy!

How To Customize Weapons

All mods will beequipped in the armory menu. After selecting a weapon, you’ll be prompted tocreate a custom loadout. Here you canview all the guns' available slots. Click on a slot toview what mods you have available, and choose the one that is right for you.

When you fit a weapon with mods, this creates a new custom version of it. This will not be the weapon’s default form; you will need to buy your specific version either when a mission begins or in-game between rounds.

Cosmetics are also available to use in this menu. You canapply skins, trinkets, and stickersto further personalize your loadout.
