In a new Twitter post (found byGamesRadar+), the prolific game director decided to share some key statistics surrounding the critically acclaimed Death Stranding sequel. It’s no secret that fans have been playing the title nonstop since its launch last month, but surprisingly, it remains just as popular after the credits roll.

When speaking on the Social Strand System, Kojima mentioned that many players have continued to adventure throughout the dystopian landscape of Death Stranding 2 even after the main narrative has concluded. Kojima figures it could be due to the real-life world’s state, with fans in need of some escapism, while still connecting to others through the game.

To back up his hypothesis, Kojima revealed the most used signs placed are ones of encouragement, “Speed Up,” “Keep on keeping on,” and “You got this!” This shows what he means when he says, “Even if you don’t notice, someone is connected to you, watching over you.”

With everything going on in the world right now, Kojima admits that “it might be hard to hold on to hope for tomorrow.” However, there is something to take from his point that people are coming together to encourage each other.

Death Stranding 2 was well received by fans and critics alike.
