In the months leading up to and the few days following its launch, there was a lot of hype surroundingInZoi. Its stunning, realistic graphics and a seemingly endless array of customization options meant the game was given the “Sims Killer” moniker, and for a while, it looked like it might just be that.
On InZoi’s launch day, over 87,000 players jumped in at the same time, a number only beaten byThe Sims 4a handful of times. But it didn’t take long for the bottom to fall out.
In just two weeks,InZoi had lost 85 percent of its players, and a few days after that, itdropped to lows that The Sims 4 hadn’t seen in over four years. Now, just six short weeks later, InZoi’s player count has fallen belowThe Sims 3, a game that is over 16 years old.
InZoi’s Player Count Drops Below The Sims 3 For The First Time
At the end of April, I reported that InZoi was “getting dangerously close to dropping below The Sims 3’s player numbers,” something the InZoi community didn’t take kindly to, but it didn’t take long for that prophecy to come true.
According to SteamDB, at 7:00 a.m. BST on Tuesday, June 10, InZoi has a lowly 817 players. The Sims 3, which launched on July 29, 2025, has 980 players, which is around 20 percent more than InZoi. Sure,The Simsis a franchise that has been around for far longer, so it will have a larger install base, but these numbers have to be a worrying sign for Krafton.
Its current player count, 832, represents a 99 percent drop from its peak on Friday, July 11, 2025. Although not quite as damning, InZoi’s average player count over the last 30 days is just over 1,600, which still represents a more than 98 percent decrease.
If the player counts weren’tenough indication that players aren’t happy, the gamehas consistently received more negative reviews than positive onessince the middle of May. Krafton’s move toreveal how the game used generative AI also backfired, with fans saying, “This game is so uninspired and has no artistry or soul.”
There is some hope that in the coming days, the game could get a much-needed boost. After delaying it in May, it has now been confirmed that on June 13,InZoi will be receiving its biggest update yet, with Krafton making some gameplay changes, adding additional cheats, item exchanging between Zois, and updates to the family and relationship systems.
