TheInvincible Vsteam might have just come up with theperfectway to include one of the most hated characters in both the show and the comics, and I’m praying it’s not just a joke for Twitter.
Without a doubt, themost important thing for any fighting game based on a well-known series to get right is the roster. In the case of Invincible Vs,we sadly only know about a handful of characters that are going to be playable so far. Invincible, Omni-Man, Atom Eve, and more are all great picks to start with, but there’s a ton of potential in who could end up making an appearance.
Considering Invincible Vs is a fighting game, though, that sadly means adecent portion of the show and comic’s most beloved characters aren’t going to join the roster. Debbie, Cecil, William, and a lot of other squishy humans just don’t make sense as playable fighters, but that hasn’t stopped the team from considering how one massive jerk could be included.
Make The Dummy A Dummy
Ever since Invincible Vs was revealed last week, the game’s social media pages have been about as active and jokey as the mainline Invincible account. The team has been very consistent with posting and interacting with fans of the series, which led to a very interesting idea that was shared the other day.
In response to a post highlighting Atom Eve’s dad as the worst parent in Invincible(which is wrong since he’s the worstcharacter), theInvincible Vs Twitter account replied by simply saying, “Eve’s dad training dummy?”. It’s almost definitely just a joke as of the time of writing, but fans have made it clear that it’s actually a fantastic idea.
Since Invincible Vs is aiming to be “tournament-quality”, I can only imagine they’ll just have actual characters as training dummys. Still, a toggle to make them look like Eve’s dad would be incredible.
Getting the chance to obliterate Eve’s dad in dummy form would be awesome and very in-line with the series' sense of humour. It seems that Invincible fans all agree, as the seemingly silly suggestion has been met with a lot of praise andclaims that it’ll be enough to get people to buy the game outright. I was already on board, but sign me up for a second copy if that ends up being the case.
