After basically confirming his inclusion as part of the game’s reveal trailer,Invincible Vshas officially revealed Rex Splode as a playable character and shown off his first gameplay footage.

Without a doubt, one of the most exciting gaming announcements that’s been made in the past few months was thereveal of Invincible Vs during Xbox’s Summer Games Showcase last month. Tag fighters are everywhere right now,but it’s impossible to argue that Invincible doesn’t fit the genre perfectly, and Vs looks like a very interesting take on it all.

Of course, the most exciting thing about any fighting game is the roster, and we already know about a decent number of playable characters in Invincible Vs.Mark, Atom Eve, Bulletproof, and Thula have all been shown through gameplay so far, but we’ve already got our first look at the next character.

Invincible Vs has finally shown off how Rex Splode is going to play

Those trap explosives are going to be trouble, huh

That character is none other than the show’s undeniable standout character, Rex Splode, who went from the worst character to one of the best during Season 3.Rex Splode could briefly be spotted during the Invincible Vs reveal trailer fighting alongside Mark and Eve, and now he’s been officially announced as playable.

While that was pretty obvious since he’s one of the series' most popular characters, it’s still good to have it confirmed and get a glimpse of how he’s going to play. As you might expect, Rex’s moveset revolves around his signature explosives, which he uses for attacking as well as for some enhanced mobility that sets him apart from the flying characters. Oh, and his ultimate is as rude as you’d expect.

The only other characters that appeared during Invincible Vs' reveal trailer thathaven’t had gameplay shown yet are Lucan and Omni-Man. I’m guessing they’ll be revealed in short time, though.

From the looks of it, Rex Splode’s explosives are going to make him a real pain to deal with, as they can be used to keep opponents at bay while also pressuring them into attacking first. Uniquely, they can also be set up as traps with a delayed explosive, which should make for some interesting mix-ups when combined with the instant explosives.
