WhilePersona 5: The Phantom Xhasn’t been out long, it has already started dropping a shocking amount of content. Metro Of Desire is easily the most robust bit we’ve received yet. Not only is this a convenient place to rack up resources and gather valuables, but it is an engaging, little rougelike in its own right.
One of the core aspects is acquiring Lost Items, which are powerful artifacts that will do everything from leveling up your Charms to providing you with more Railway Coins. However, not every Lost Item is equally effective. In fact, some are considerably more powerful than others. Starting from the useful, but situational, to the overwhelmingly strong, this list will help you identify the very best Lost Items.
10Daredevil Stamp Card
Lowers Attack By 30% For Four Platforms, Then Rewards Player With 150 Subway Coins
Of all the Subway Coin-giving items, this is one of the best (though there is a better one coming later in the list) under one condition: you have your instant kill leveled up. If that is the case, then you won’t even feel the impact of the Daredevil Stamp Card, and it is just a free 150 coins.
So, if you are looking for coins, you are instant killing every foe, and you aren’t within four platforms of the boss, this is a solid choice. However, if you are having to fight every battle, it may not be worth the 30% hit, unless you are running an agony build, that is.
For a good Agony build, focus on getting the Cruel V, and Cruel VI Charms. Those are the most integral charms required for breaking the game.
9Festival Fan
Reduce Attack By 10%, Every Safe Station Increases Max HP By 10%
This is another somewhat situational one. If you are taking on enemies that areaboveyour current level, then survivability becomes keenly important. At that point, if you have the chance to get this item early, then you can easily double your HP. Add improved healing charms, and shield-granting charms, and all you’ll need is an agony build to take platforms that should typically be out of reach.
However, if you are the correct level, then you have plenty of ways to boost your sustainability without giving up any attack power. The earlier it is presented as an option, the more you should consider it. But I wouldn’t grab the Festival Fan if it is first offered on the third line.
8Tengu Mask
Every Battle Increases Attack And Defense By 10%, No Longer Gain Railway Coins
Okay, this is the last of the situational choices. This is another option that is very, very good, depending on what build you have going on, and how far into the run you are. If you get this item as an option early, then you would be foolish not to take it. You could be gaining as much as a 100% boost to both your attackanddefense with every line you clear.
Pair those boosts with Stalwart Charms and Grim or Chaotic Charms (depending on if you are more single or multi-target focused) and you’ll have a squad of heavy-hitting tanks. It is also worth noting that you’ll still receive coins from items you sell and breaking barrels. You just won’t get them from defeating enemies. So, you can still purchase items.
7Winning Ticket
Guarantees You’ll Receive An Orange Charm After The Next Battle
Orange charms are, without question, the most powerful in the game. Since you know what set a battle will provide (it is shown on the terminal map), you’ll know which orange charm you’ll be acquiring. This is simple and easy. You will want to acquire this item if you have the chance.
Unless, that is, you already have every charm you could possibly want. At which point, the rest of the run is going to be a joke anyway, so which Lost Item you choose is, more or less, irrelevant.
6Cursed Plushie
Increase attack damage by 20%, reduce attribute damage taken by 20%
This is situational, as it requires you to give up all your Prayer Megatama. However, if you are building around survivability, and you have a strong healer on your team (which I recommend), it isn’t hard to heal back to full. So, a Lost Item like the Cursed Plushie is almost always a smart bet.
Naturally, if you are just barely scraping by, you will almost certainly need those Prayer Megatamas. Still, if that is the case, then, in future runs, I strongly recommend that you build more around survivability. One fringe case that would make this a less viable pick is if you have been saddled with Lost Items that lower your HP and defense. More often than not, this is an item you should eagerly snatch up.
5Mood-Changing Meds
Receive A Free Readeal On Charms After Battle
This may not seem like an unbelievably powerful Lost Item at first, as all it does is give you a free redeal. Redeals only cost 15 coins, so what’s so great about that? Well, it means that you are free to redeal after every battle, and it makes it much easier to locate specific charms.
The difference between having an incredible run and a struggle run is how good your charm pulls are. This Lost Item allows you to put your thumb on the scale and gives you a much better chance of getting the perfect build.
4Magic Lamp
Upgrades 1-5 Charms
The Magic Lamp and its ability to buff one to five of your charms will always be a smart bet. Even if you get the worst-case scenario, and you only get one upgrade, it isn’t the worst thing in the world. And, more often than not, that won’t happen.
The real secret to using the Magic Lamp well is to enter into your charm’s inventory before you take/purchase it. Sell any charms you don’t really care about, and leave only the stuff that is actively working toward your build of choice.
The Spirit Boardhas a very similar effect, except it boosts one charm after every battle for the next three battles. I’d say it is similarly good, unless you are about to fight a boss in that instant.
Max HP +15%
Attack +15%
You’llneverencounter these in stores or in chests. Instead, you’ll only seemingly get these items from the Capable Woman’s Shadow, which is one of the more common Lost Shadow events. She’ll ask you to participate in an experiment, and you will then be able to claim a Record or 40 Subway Coins.
I can’t emphasize enough what a terrible idea it is to take the coins. Always take the record. Across the board, these provide great buffs. In fact, these items are so good that they’ll become the reason to target those Lost Shadow platforms.
2VIP Member’s Card
The First Item You Buy At The Shop Will Be Free
When you think of the Daredevil Stamp Card, which gives you 150 Railway Coins after making you more vulnerable for four stations, or the Extra Wallet, which gives you a paltry 60 coins, it is hard to argue with a free purchase. Use this item correctly, and you’ll be able to buy an orange charm, or even a premium Lost Item. Those can cost up to a whopping 300 coins!
Just make sure to refresh the shop until you find an expensive item worth using the VIP Card’s ability on. It is worth noting that this item gets better as you get further in, as the shops start containing more and more expensive items. Never pass this one up if you may get it before the final shop, as that always contains an orange charm.
1Hardy Pocket Watch
Allows You To Flee One Encounter And Win
This is either the best Lost Item you can acquire, or it is only worth buying if you want to save time. This Lost Item allows you to skipanyfight. That means that if you are justbarelyscraping by, you can use the Hardy Pocket Watch to skip the final battle and complete a run that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to win. However, if you have a strong enough combination of charms, it probably isn’t worth it, as a good charm loadout will make battles end pretty quickly anyway.
What the Hardy Pocket Watch is most popular for is grinding. Select the highest difficulty setting, and look to get the Hardy Pocket Watch as your first item. It isn’t available, skip the run. Next, complete the first line, running from the boss, which will activate the Hardy Pocket Watch and give you the win. Now, begin the second line, and work your way to the end. Quit out, and you will be rewarded quite nicely. You use this method to quickly level up your Metro of Desire rank.
