MindsEyehas infamously taken the title for havingthe worst Metacritic score of any game released this year so far. It’s held onto that title for over a month now, and isholding it by quite a margin.
However, if we look at the scores coming from users, MindsEye fares a little better. Well, notmuchbetter, but it isn’t in last place, as that “honour” goes toHunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact.

At the time of writing, Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact has a Metacritic user score of just 1.6. This puts it below MindsEye, which has a score of 2.4.
Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact’s main issue is that it just wasn’t what fans were looking for. As we’ve previously reported, fans wereimmediately unhappy with the presentation, feeling that it fell far below what you’d expect for $60. That hasseemingly led to low sales, and given the mood on Metacritic, it doesn’t seem to be winning anyone over anytime soon.
There are a few surprising additions to the list of the worst-rated games of 2025. In order from worst to… slightly less worse:
Of course, there’s plenty of time for another game to come along and steal Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact’s crown, if we can even call it that. We’ll also have to wait and see if anything can get a worse critical reception than MindsEye, especially as the studio is said to begunning for a relaunch to turn its fortunes around.
