Summary

Elden Ring Nightreignis surprisingly a solid experience overall, allowing you to jump in, fight challenging bosses, and get out with a few friends, as you experiment with different builds and hope you get a decent weapon as your favorite Nightfarer.

However, one of the coolest aspects of the game is theclassic outfits you may unlockafter defeating every Night Lord in the game, giving you access to iconic characters such as Artorias, Solaire, Havel, and more, allowing you to wear your nostalgia proudly on your sleeve. Unfortunately, some obvious choices are missing, leaving us to wonder where they are and if they will ever appear as alternate outfits!

10Champion Iudex Gundyr

The powerful Guardian Nightfareralready has some excellent outfits in Elden Ring Nightreign, with the beloved Solaire being one of them, and Alva the Wayfarer taking the other spot. To add to this class’s fantastic outfit lineup, we’d love to see an Iudex Gundyr skin added to their wardrobe.

Champion Gundyr’s towering and forbidding look suits them quite well, and they both excel at wielding halberds. You also encounter Gundyr a couple of times throughoutDark Souls 3, which would give them an outfit for each title, making it a must if any additional outfits get added!

How Is This Not A Duchess Outfit?

While the Duchess is extremely potentand does have one of the coolest-looking outfits with her Darkwraith skin, the rest of her options are quite lacking overall, especially when they constantly tease you with her Firekeeper-esque appearance, even wearing a similar-looking Blindfold Mask. Despite this, she never receives a Firekeeper outfit.

She arguably has the worst selection out of all the Nightfarers, as her other unlockable skin is the basic Black Leather Set found inDemon’s Soulsand Dark Souls 2/3 (AKA the Thief Set in the first Dark Souls). The Duchess is a spitting image of Dark Souls 3’s Firekeeper, and we’re still flabbergasted this isn’t one of her skins!

Good Eye, Sniper!

Ironeye is another Nightfarer in Elden Ring Nightreignwith an okay selection of outfits compared to the best (still leagues ahead of the Duchess), letting him rock Ringfinger Leonhard’s set from Dark Souls 3 andDark Souls 2’s Llewellyn Set. While they look cool, we feel they missed a massive opportunity here.

Where is the Hawkeye Gough skin from the Artorias of the Abyss expansion of the first Dark Souls? This one feels like a gimme, and we’re shocked he doesn’t get to become one of the most beloved characters of the expansion that helps you take down the formidable Black Dragon Kalameet. We hope he gets to embody this legend sometime soon!

Knight Lautrec of Carim sitting in front of the bonfire at the Firelink Shrine in Dark Souls.

7Knight Lautrec Of Carim

Wylder The Guilty

Knight Lautrec of Carim is one of the most well-known characters in the firstDark Souls, as he has one of the most involved and convoluted stories that has many twists and turns, with one of them being him murdering the Firekeeper, Anastacia, at the Firelink Shrine.

Despite Wylder having a phenomenal selection of outfits, with the fan-favorite Artorias Set being among the best in the game, and the iconic Faraam Set from Dark Souls 2 rounding things out, we feel he’d crush this skin, even if Lautrec wields dual blades. If a skin pack makes its way to Nightreign, we hope Wylder receives this one!

Sir Alonne wielding his Great Katana in Dark Souls 2.

6Sir Alonne

Executed To Perfection

Look, we don’t particularly enjoy Dark Souls 2 all that much either and were sort of bummed to see so many skins be based on characters from it in Nightreign as well, butthe complex and devastating Executornot receiving a Sir Alonne outfit is a headscratcher to be sure.

Don’t get us wrong, we love seeing Kirk return with his signature Set of Thorns armor, but it doesn’t really fit the Executor all that well. With all the Dark Souls 2-inspired skins in this game, we thought Alonne was guaranteed, only to be let down pretty hard. At least he crushes the Yuria of Londor skin, though!

Crossbreed Priscilla standing with her scythe drawn in a tower locked away within the Painted World of Ariamis in Dark Souls.

5Crossbreed Priscilla

Duchess' Painted World

Yes, we have another Duchess skin proposal here since she clearly wasn’t loved as much as some of the other Nightfarers in the game. And, of course, it’s none other than Crossbreed Priscilla, who is one of our favorite characters from the first Dark Souls by a large margin.

Found in the hidden and sealed-off Painted World of Ariamis, Priscilla is waiting all alone in a tower, wielding her scythe, offering one of the most memorable and completely optional moments in the game. Everything from her design to her lore to the encounter itself (if you choose to be a monster) is beautifully done, and we’d love to see the Duchess at least get this skin!

Anri of Astora sitting on pieces of rubble while speaking with the Ashen One in Dark Souls 3.

4Anri Of Astora

Becoming Wylder

Speaking of beloved characters in the Dark Souls series, we have Anri of Astora next, one of the best NPCs in Dark Souls 3 with one of the most devastating storylines the game has to offer.Their sword and shield combo would be a perfect match for Wylder, giving him another solid option to choose from.

Anri is an excellent character who, like yourself, is Unkindled, forcing them to seek the Lords of Cinder. This leads to several encounters throughout the game, resulting in some massive twists, relationships, and despair. If we had to choose between Lautric or Anri, we’d go with Anri, as it best fits Wylder, and they’re just the better character!

Smough standing menacingly inside the ballroom of Anor Londo wielding his enormous Great Hammer in Dark Souls.

3Executioner Smough

Another Banger Outfit For Raider

We strongly considered not including a skin for Raider on this list due to him already having a Havel the Rock outfit, as well as a Catarina Onion Knight skin (Siegmeyer, Sieglinde, and Seigward), making him the de facto best in this regard in Elden Ring Nightreign.

But, jealousy aside, how can we not point out how excellent an Executioner Smough skin would be for this unit of a man? Would this be another S-Tier skin for Raider in a sea of okay at best ones? Absolutely. But we need it. And thestrong and mighty Raiderneeds it as well!

Dark Sun Gwyndolin standing in an illusionary never ending hallway within Anor Londo in Dark Souls.

2Dark Sun Gwyndolin

Recluse’s Final Form

Recluse is an interesting Nightfarer in Nightreign,as she is remarkably strong and unique to play, and has solid skins. The Emerald Herald skin is remarkable, allowing you to obliterate your foes as the Firekeeper from Dark Souls 2. Her other unlockable skin is loosely based on Yuria from Demon’s Souls and Karla from Dark Souls 3, which is awesome to see as a long-time fan of the series.

These two great skins aside, we need to get a Dark Sun Gwyndolin one for the Recluse as soon as possible—snake legs and all. Recluse is very, very strong and is capable of some of the most destructive and high-damaging magic around, and so is Gwyndolin. It’s a match made in heaven that needs to happen!

1Company Captain Yorshka

Revenant Of The Darkmoon

Lastly,we have one for the Revenant Nightfarer, everyone’s favorite little gremlin, who is capable of so much chaos and damage. While her Sister Friede skin is perfect, letting you become one of the most formidable bosses in Dark Souls 3, her Sorcerer Set-inspired skin from the first Dark Souls is so underwhelming, especially when there is so much potential with her design.

Company Captain Yorshka, Gwyndolin’s younger sister, for example, is a must-have skin for Revenant. While she isn’t a necromancer and never fights, her design is spot on, making her a perfect match for the Revenant class. The long, flowing white dress, stunning headdress, and ability to use strong Miracles make her check all the boxes in our book!
