Increase Health & Stamina
One of the best benefits of the Impetus Repository is that there are multiple nodes you can unlock that willincrease both your overall HP and stamina.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers isan unforgiving game,with many enemies that can take you out in one or two hits. Increasing your HP and stamina pools is going to prove useful every time.
Unlock New Weapon Skills
Eachweapon type has its own branch and skill tree, in the Impetus Repository.
you may use the Impetus Repository tounlock new weapon abilities and perks. For example, an early node in the Repository allows for longswords to gain Skyborn Might after every two-hit combo.
Increase Skyborn Might Potency
In the Impetus Repository, you can alsounlock abilities that allow you to gain Skyborn Mightmore quickly.
For example, using a spear can grant you a resource known as Boldheart, which can then be converted into Skyborn Might once you’ve unlocked the corresponding node in the Repository.
How The Impetus Repository Works
To use the Impetus Repository, you’ll have tovisit a Shrine.
You cannot gain new skills, change skills, or refine Red Mercury unless you are at a Shrine. Once you offer prayers to a Shrine,simply toggle to the Impetus Repository Menuto view all available skills and Red Mercury Essence points.
Red Mercury Essence is refined from Red Mercuryyou find out in the world (more on this below).
Once you’ve refined Red Mercury Essence,you can spend this Essence like skill pointsto unlock new abilities.
You can alsoalways reset the way you’ve spent your Red Mercury Essenceif you desire.
When you do so, you can redistribute your skill points if you see fit. This is great if you want to use a particular weapon for a difficult boss encounter, but don’t have the right skills unlocked.
How To Earn Red Mercury Essence
In order to unlock new abilities in the Impetus Repository, you’ll need torefine Red Mercury Essence. As mentioned, this requires you to find a certain amount of Red Mercury out in the open world.
If you are killedout in the world,you will drop any Red Mercuryyou have collected.
You’ll then need to return to the same spot to recollect your Red Mercury. If you are killed again, you won’t be able to regain that same Red Mercury.
In thetop right-hand corner of your screen, you cansee how much Red Mercury you’ve acquired.
When you have enoughto refine into Red Mercury Essence,the icon will glow slightly.
When you see this icon glowing,head back to a Shrine as soon as you can to refine it into Red Mercury Essence, subsequently spending it on a skill or build upgrade.
Once you’ve refined Red Mercury into Red Mercury essence, it never goes away.
However,if you drop your Red Mercury before it is refined, you risk losing it forever.
Where To Find Red Mercury
There are a number of ways to find and earn Red Mercuryin Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Defeating enemies is the most surefire wayto earn Red Mercury. Every time you defeat an enemy, you’ll notice your Red Mercury tracker go up. Obviously, the more powerful the enemy, the more Red Mercury you earn.
However,sometimes you earn Red Mercury just for entering new areas. Additionally, you can alsofind Red Mercury items like Red Mercury Shoots.
Red Mercury items contain Red Mercury, but you mustuse them first to add them to your Repository.
Simply head to the items screen and select ‘use’ on the Red Mercury itemof your choice to add their Red Mercury to your pool.
Best Skills To Upgrade Early
Particularly early on in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, there are some nodes in the Impetus Repository you’ll want to prioritize. Of course,which nodes you prioritize will depend on your weapon of choice.
However, there are somesurefire nodes that can prove extremely helpfulearly on:
Skyborn Call I
This skill allows you toincrease the maximum amount of Skyborn Mightyou can wield by two.
At the end of the day, Skyborn Might is your most precious combat resource. Increasing your max capacity is always going to prove useful.
Manna Capacity
This skillincreases the amount of Manna Potionsyou can carryon your person.
Be warned, you will alsoneed to use a Forgotten Remembranceto upgrade this skill.
You canfind Forgotten Remembrances in gilded cheststhroughout the world.
Sword Saint
When you have a longsword equipped,the second light attack strike gains the user one stack of Skyborn Might.
This is a pretty easy combo to hit, so this skill is a great way to earn Skyborn Might quickly.
Boldheart
This is an early level spear ability. When you have this equipped,your spear attacks grant Boldheart, which can then be converted into Skyborn Might.
This makes your spear a much more viable weapon early on.
Biding Time
Whenever you are wielding a one-handed sword, you willoccasionally gain a stack of Skyborn Might.
Having a boon that randomly grants Skyborn Might is extremely helpful. Plus, as previously mentioned,having an ability that gains you Skyborn Might make certain weapons more viable, like one-handed swords.
Ultimately,the Impetus Repository should be customized to your playstyle.
If you don’t like fighting with heavy axes or two-handed weapons, don’t waste your skill points on these trees. Instead, focus on weapons you do like.
