While a lot of your time inRune Factory: Guardians Of Azumawill be spent out of harm’s way as you’re normally talking to different NPCs or farming your days away, it’s still highly important to focus on combat and figure out the best way to deal the most damage to your opponents.

While your stats are the major deciding factor during combat, you can also get an edge over the enemy if you understand the elemental attributes in the game and how to use them to your advantage. There are a total of seven elemental attributes, but only six of them are used in the battle.

Every Elemental Attribute, Explained

Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma has the following elemental attributes that you may encounter in different parts of the game:Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Light, Dark, and Love. Normally, you’d see an attribute being strong against one while weak against another. However, it works a little differently here.

Instead of being strong and weak to different attributes, each element is strong and weak against the same one. For example:

Rune Factory Guardians Of Azuma selecting a sacred treasure.

Love is the only elemental attribute that doesn’t react with others, butit’s also not usable in combat.

You only use this attribute to befriend various monsters.

The best way to tell if you’re dealing higher damage to enemies because of elemental weakness is by looking at the color of your damage.Yellow damage signifies higher damage, white signifies normal damage, and gray signifies lesser damage. If you’re attacking an enemy with the same element that they possess, you’re going to deal lower or even no damage at all in some cases.

How To Use Each Elemental Attribute

Now that you understand the value of elemental attributes in Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma, it’s also necessary to understand how to use them. The main way to use any attribute in this game isby using the corresponding Sacred Treasure’s attacks:

Light

Sacred Staff

Out of all these, the Love and Earth treasuresdon’t directly deal any damage to their enemieswith normal attacks.

If you want to deal Earth damage with your Sacred Treasure, you’ll have to use its special abilities.

Outside of Sacred Treasures, you may also dealdifferent elemental damage in the late-game by crafting their respective weapons or Talismans. Fire is the only element that can deal extra damage without respective weapon since your charged attacks from bow and normal weapons can deal extra fire damage with the Sacred Sword is equipped.
