Every villager inDisney Dreamlight Valleyis from an iconic Disney or Pixar feature film, yet there is one exception–The Forgotten. This dark and brooding version of your younger self is a testament to the way people grow and change over time.
Welcoming the Forgotten is easier that you’d think, but it’s definitely not for beginners. You’ll have your work cut out for you if you’re just starting out, but veteran players will be ready to welcome them with open arms. Here’s everything you need to know to invite the Forgotten to be an official villager in your star-studded Dreamlight Valley.
How To Unlock The Forgotten
To unlock the Forgotten, you’ll need tocomplete the entire main storylinewith The Remembered quest. You’ll also need to complete theOdds & Ends and the Between Skull Rock And A Hard Place queststo open the path forward to Skull Rock.
In addition to this, you’ll need to complete the Forgotten’s personal quests:
Once you’ve met all these requirements, you’ll get a new quest:A Forgotten Name. In this quest, you’ll need to speak with The Forgotten to uncover a feather leading you to Skull Rock. Before you go in, however, The Forgotten will ask you topick a new namefor them.
Selectone of the preset names or come up with your own! This willofficially welcome the Forgotten as a villagerin Dreamlight Valley, allowing you to become their best friend.
How To Unlock More Of The Forgotten’s Friendship Quests
At the moment, itdoesn’t seem like the Forgotten has any friendship questsonce they’re officially welcomed. This may be due to theadditional quests leading up to them being unlocked. However, it seems there issupposed to be a level ten questto unlock their best friend reward, like any other villager.
This isa known bugat the moment, as the final reward is currently unattainable.
Despite these issues, you canstill hangout with the Forgottenand increase their friendship level toearn unique rewardsand additional resources. By assigning the Forgotten a role at level two,you can earn more items when going about your daily tasks.
If you have the DLC, you may assign them new roles outside of the standard selection.
To increase the Forgotten’s friendship level, you simplyneed to hangout with them, give them gifts, serve them mealsat the restaurants in the Valley, andcheck in on themdaily. It seems like a lot, but you can do it over time–there’s no rush!
If you have the Eternity Isle DLC, you canalso play Scramblecoinfor some additional experience.
How To Rename The Forgotten
The Forgotten is unique in that you canchoose a new namefor them at any time after unlocking them as an official villager. To do this, headinto the Collections menu, then select characters. Scroll down to the Dreamlight Valley section andselect the Forgotten’s name with a pencil iconnext to it.
From here, you can change their name to almost anything you like (within reason). Thischange will take effect immediately, and it can be changed again later at no cost. The Forgotten is still figuring out who they are apart from you, so it’s okay tochange their name a few times–they won’t mind!
The Forgotten’s Friendship Rewards
Each time you level up the Forgotten, you’llearn new rewards. These can be used to help you express yourself and any dark and twisted creative ideas you have.
Fromfurniture to motifs and Star Coinsyou can spend, there’s a lot to enjoy. We’ve outlined them below for you to see!
