Date Everythinghas the premise right there in the name. You really ought to try dating everything. There are quite a few things to date, after all. Yet amidst all this dating, you might want to partake in some other activities, those of a non-romantic persuasion. Such as, perhaps, counting every single cardboard box in your home.
For some unknowable reason, despite the home being packed with a variety of objects, there are just so many cardboard boxes, both filled and empty, strewn about the house. And counting them up really isn’t for nothing, either. An achievement awaits you at the end of this rather long search, so get ready for a thorough journey.
And it goes without saying, but you can, of course, date the boxes, too.
Can You Find Every Box From The Beginning Of The Game?
Date Everything jumps into the game pretty quickly, and isopen-ended as soon as you get mostly free control on day two. There are some bits and pieces to unlock still, of course, but you are now free to explore the vast majority of the house and its many dateable objects. Does this apply to the boxes though?
Most of them, sure. But not quite all of them. The game does keep track of every box you’ve interacted with, though it might be better to justwait on interacting with them all until you’ve unlocked the entire house. No point in forgetting which boxes you’ve interacted with, just to have to run through the whole house interacting with them all again.
The only extra room you need to unlock to reachall theboxes is the attic. Once you’ve unlocked this room, every box is available, and the Boxing Day achievement is within your reach.
How Many Boxes Are There In Total?
That is a great question. For the most part,the game tracks boxes by piles. So if you come across a stack of piles with three boxes in total, clicking on any of them will count for the whole stack. So in a sense, it is just a single box. Using the Dateviators to check the box outline is also a great way of tracking what exactly is classed as the boundaries between a box and a stack.
So if we count whole stacks as just a single box,there are approximately 45 boxes. Which sounds like a whole bunch more than it actually is. The only boxes you can safely ignore are those that are connected to other characters. For example, the massive pile of boxes in the attic are connected to Lady Memoria, and so do not count.
And despite what the game says,there are not, in fact, 485 boxes.
For even more safety,any box that is connected to Beau is a box that must be interacted withto unlock the Boxing Day achievement.
Where To Find Every Box
And now let us get started in finding each of these secretive boxes. There are quite a few, sowe’ve divided them by roomto make it that much easier.
Utility Room
Right beside the kitchen is the room holding all of your cleaning supplies, such as the washing and drying machines. In here is another smaller closet with Hoove, and aboutseven sets of boxes. Interact with them all and let’s move on.
Office And Boiler Room
The office itself is fairly sparse in terms of boxes, with most of them contained on the shelves on one side of the room. There should bethree boxes to interact with here.
Right beside here is the boiler room. Beside the water heater will beshelf holding another six boxes, Interact with them all and then move onto the next room.
Circuit Breaker Room
Head upstairs now, and enter the small closet room. In here will just be a circuit breaker and a box of tools. And near those will betwo more stacks of boxes.
Bedroom
This is where the vast majority of boxes in the house are located. All of them are found inside the two closets at the back of the room. In total, there should bearound 12 boxes. There will be one box of decorations here that can be ignored.
Gym
Next we have the gym, which is similar to the bedroom. Hidden away in the closet at the back of the room,there should be about eight boxes, and another box of decorations you can ignore. Onward to our next set of boxes!
Upstairs Hallway
Right outside your bedroom will be a small table holding a pile of books andthree more boxes. Done here, let us proceed to our final destination.
Attic
After unlocking the attic, you will find quite a few boxes awaiting you, though far fewer than you might expect considering it is the attic, where everything forgotten goes to rest. There are three boxes you can ignore here - the box of decorations like those you saw in the bedroom and gym, a box containing board games, and the massive stacks of boxes in the corner.
The first three boxesyou want to find are between the board games and decorations. The nextone is sat right beside the HVACsystem, with afinal duo nestled in beside the safe. Once you’ve interacted with them all, the Boxing Day achievement should unlock, and your box hunt should be over.
