While most locations inElden Ring Nightreignare fairly straightforward, Sorcerer’s Rises make up for their lack of enemies with a puzzle in need of solving. Finding these towers can be very confusing for first time explorers as solving their puzzles does not always seem obvious from the start — especially under time pressures.
However, should you manage to solve the puzzles of these Sorcerer’s Rises, you’ll be rewarded with potential weapons and talismans ideal for spellcasters. If you’re playing Recluse or Revenant, this might just be a location you’ll want to visit first. And that means understanding how to get in there in the first place.
How To Reach The Top Of The Sorcerer’s Rise
When you reach any tower,some will have a sealed doorup front. Others will have a sealed door on the second floor (this is more likely if you enter the first door without performing any of the tasks below).
Regardless, getting through these seals will not always require the same solution.
Because this has been a frequently asked question, if you have solved the puzzle door but do not know how to climb the tower interior,enter the tower. Inside, you should see a stack of crystals. You can jump on these crystals and parkour upwardto the upper levels of the tower.
How To Enter Mage Towers With A First Floor Seal
Before you go searching for a way to open a sealed door, first look at the door itself. If the door is closed for the ground entrance,your solution will always fall into one of the categories listed below:
Illusory Door
If the door has nothing on it, that meansit is an illusory door.You don’t need to look for anything; simply walk through it.
Gargoyle
If there is a gargoyle statue with a book next to the stairs,hit it to open the door.
On The Wall
Check above the door and on the left side of the building fora circle sigil plastered to the wall.You need to strike it.This sigil can also be hidden on the left side behind a wooden add-on that shouldn’t be there; destroy that to reveal the sigil.
Pond
Check inside the pond fora sigil on the ground. You’ll have to run or jump over it to destroy the sigil.
Trees
On the left,a pair of rustling trees or a set of dead treesmay appear. The rustling trees can be run through, and the dead trees must be struck.
Moving Tree Trunk
There’sa moving tree trunkthat you may chase around the towers. It must be defeated to release the sigil’s hold on the door.
There is also one Mage’s Tower that doesn’t fall into the solutions listed above:the Spirit Spring Rise.
If you find a sealed door to a Rise but can spy spirit springs to use for jumping nearby, the solution to enter the tower is not to solve any puzzles or destroy sigils. Instead, you only need touse the Spirit Spring to jump to the top.
How To Enter Mage Towers With A Second Floor Seal
If you get to a Sorcerer’s Rise that has an open door when you appear, it is likely thatthere is a seal on the second floor.
Second-floor Rises have their own set of solutions, and they are a little more obscure than the puzzle solutions found outside on the first floor. For all of them,the solution can be found inside the Rise.
Statue
Looking at the crystals from the front door, turn your attention tothe back right corner. If there is no statue there,the wall is illusory.Hit it to reveal the hidden sigil.
Unlit Candle
As you enter the room, if there is astatue in the back right corner, look behind you to the left.If the candle on the wall is unlit, strike itand then destroy the sigil that forms when the candle’s wick is lit.
Second Floor Back Wall
If none of the above is true, look behind you to check fora sigil that can be hit on the back wall.
There are also locations known asRuined Rises.These towers are just like the normal Sorcerer’s Rises, but they arecovered in crystals. These locations will have a sealed door on the second floor, butwill have multiple sigilsto find in some combination of those found above, with some variations, such as the sigil for the Pond solution being instead on the wall of the Rise above the pond.
