Now that you have your free Galdur Pup pet inPalia, it’s time to get the free courier pack so you can unlock the courier pet functionality. This will allow you to send your pet back to your plot with up to four items to clear your backpack.
The Home And Back Again quest will take you through figuring out how to communicate with your pup, crafting a courier pack, then creating an affection charm so your pet can always find you. Don’t worry, we’ll walk you through the steps so you know exactly what you need to complete the quest.
If you don’t have the Galdur Pet yet, you’ll need to first complete the Nurture of Shadows quest.Our guide here will take you through that quest, then just come back here to get the courier pet ability!
How To Unlock Courier Pet Functionality
Once you complete the Nurture of Shadows quest, it seems that your new Echoling friend wants to tell you something,but you aren’t able to communicate with it.This will start theHome And Back Againquest.
Tamala suggests you go talk to Ulfe. Since the boy is from this area, he may be able to talk to it.you’re able to find Ulfe in the cave you first found him trapped in, over on the eastern side of Deep Woods.
However, when you talk to him, you learn that he is desperately hungry. To get his help, you’ll need to make him aBean Burger and some Flowtato Fries with Ketchup.
You can find both recipes from just exploring the Elderwoods. The Bean Burger recipe is locatedin a chest in Ulfe’s cave, and the Flowtato Fries recipe is in achest between the entrance to the Central Stables and Lilac Cavern.
Once Ulfe is fed, he tells you that the Echoling wants to help carry your burdens. All you need to do now ismake a pack for it.
Through Ulfe, the pup tells youwhat materials you’ll need for the pack:
Once you have all the materials you need,go talk to Jel,and he’ll sew the pack for you.
When Jel finishes the pack, he asks you an interesting question - what if you move around after you send your pet home?How will it find you?
Return to Tamala, and she tells you that since the Echoling is driven by love, and its bond with you,what you need is an affection charm. This way, the pet can find you by sensing your love!
To craft the charm, you’llneed the following materials:
If you don’t have the Pumpkin Stew recipe,you can buy it from the Cooking Guild shoponce you’ve reachedcooking skill level eight.
Bring the materials to Tamala, who crafts the charm for you. At this point, there’s nothing more you need to do! The charm will be automatically equipped, and you havenow unlocked Courier Pet Functionality for any pet, not just the Echoling Galdur Pup.
Your pet can carryonly four items at a time(unless you originally bought the Founder’s Pack, then your pet can carry double).
Place the items you want to send with your pet in thefour slots on the right, then click the Courier Pet button. A window will come up asking you to confirm the items you’re sending with your pet.
Once you’ve sent your pet away,there’s a 10-minute cooldown before you can send your pet again.
