As with many games in the genre,Rune Factory: Guardians of Azumaallows you to take up many different hobbies to while away the hours, and one of these is, of course, fishing. Fishing is particularly useful in this game as it’s not only a source of money, but crucial to cooking dishes that contain fish. Who would have thought it?

Unlocking fishing is something that happens over the course of the story, and there are plenty of fish to be caught. If you’re looking for any particular fish, we might just have the answers and directions you’re looking for!

This is aguide in progress- we haven’t found all of the fish just yet!

How To Unlock Fishing

Fishing is unlocked as part of the main storyline. Once youreach the Winter Village and start completing queststhere, you’ll meet the local fisherman, Watarase. He will give you your first fishing rod and teach you how to fish. It’s that easy!

You will also gain thePescaPedia, a catalogue of all the fish you can find that you can access in the Adventure Log. This will fill out as you catch fish, and you can head to Watarase and show him the log as it completes to gain rewards, just like the Frog Statue kid in Spring Village.

The PescaPedia will only update when youcatch a fish. Obtaining a fish by other means does not fill out its entry.

All Fish And Where To Find Them

There are 45 fish (and fish-like things) to catch in Guardians of Azuma. The table below has the details ofall the fish we’ve managed to find, along with their listed biomes (where you may find them). Note that while each fish has a biome, plenty can be found in multiple areas, the biome listed is likely where they are most likely to be found.

We’ve added notes based on thein-game descriptionsof these fish, which should give good hints as to catching them!
