How To Start Turning A Blind Eye
After youfinish the Taking Care of Lex quest, there will be a short delay between assignments.
During the downtime, ensure you’ve sold 600 gold or moreworth of stolen gold to Thieves Guild fences, then head to anyImperial City District and wait for about 24 hours,at which timeMethredhelwill approach you.
you may also go to Methredhel, but that will take roughly the same time.
When you speak with her, Methredhel will tell you tomeet the Gray Fox at Helvius Cecia’s house in Bruma.
Head to Bruma and go to the southend of town, to the same corner where Ongar’s house is, and you’ll find your destination marked byHelvius, who beckons you inside.
Get ready to meet a legend. As you step inside, go down the stairs and enter into conversation with the Gray Fox, the infamous head of the Thieves Guild, who will tell you about your task of stealing from an ancient order of monks.
The monks at the temple are blind, so there will be extra emphasis on keeping quiet while you sneak around the Blind Moth Priests.
Your orders are to steal Savilla’s Stone from the underground catacombs near the Temple of the Ancestor Moths.
After the Gray Fox gives you a warning not to spill innocent blood and clarifies thatyou can kill the stone’s guardians, theGray Fox will mark your mapand send you off.
Bring plenty of lockpicks and prepare tobreak open several locks.
How To Infiltrate The Temple Of The Ancestor Moths
Head to thenortheastern section of Cyrodiil between Azura’s Shrine and the border to Skyrim, where you’ll find the temple.
As you arrive, your marker will shift to theMonk’s Quarters, which is sealed by an average lock, but you won’t incur a crime for breaking the lock.
Find Brother Holger(he might be in the catacombs, so wait if he is) and persuade or bribe him until his disposition is 80 or above, then ask him about the Savilla’s Stone.
Once Holger spills what he knows, you’ll need tofollow him to your destination, but be careful not to attract attention. Now is a great time tosneak and use Chameleonspells, potions, or armor.
Keep close to Holgeras he guides you through the Ancestor Moth Crypt and unlocks the Temple of the Moth Halls.
From here on, you can kill any of the guardians who stand in your way, but you can also steal the keys to the doors from them and continue without harming anyone.
Go inside and then leftthrough a door to enter the tunnels andfollow the northern pathbybearing to your right, then continuing down thehall to the north.
At the first junction, turn right, and the marker will be directly in front of you. Break theaverage lock on the door in front of you,and be very careful of any Blind Moth Priests in this room if you’re staying stealthy.
Break the lock toexit the room through the opposite door, then turn rightat the first opportunity to reach an Old Wooden Door to theCatacombs of the Temple of the Moth.
Navigating The Catacombs
Make a right at the end of the first hallwayand pass through the monk’s barracks area, heading northeast through a door with a hard lockleading to TheCaverns of the Moth.
Look out for thetripwire trapsas you come to the first major junction, and loot the chest here before continuing down the northeastern path, where you’ll encounter a Skeleton Hero. Dispatch it and move on.
Continue following the path andgo northwest, where you’ll need tojump over some spikeson the ground.
Kill the wraith, thenfollow the northwestern pathfurther to find a hard-locked door to theShrine of the Moth.
Progress into the large shrine in front of you andclaim Savilla’s Stone from the altar next to the Moth Prelateperforming some sort of ritual.
Follow your marker northeast and loot the chest on your way outfor some extra loot and some very important information about the Gray Cowl, the Gray Fox’s signature headgear.
With that, head back to Bruma to report your success, and alsoask the Gray Fox more about the cowlwhen you see him.
What Rewards Do You Get From Turning a Blind Eye?
