Spice inDune: Awakeningis not only one of the most important resources in the game, but it’s also extremely dangerous to acquire. What makes matters even worse is that Spice becomes crucial in the end-game of Dune: Awakening. If you lack this resource, certain weapons and gear could be locked away till you find some Spice.
On top of that, acquiring this ingredient is hard to do because it’s not as common as other items you can find in the wild. You’ll need to go through extra steps before the resource starts appearing. However, by reading this guide, you’ll be able to farm for Spice more effectively.
How To Spot Spice Fields
Locating a Spice Field is easy, but getting to its area is another task on its own.
As you roam Arrakis, you’ll start seeinglarge, smoky purple columnscoming off the ground. This is where you’ll beable to locate and farm for Spice easily. But,they don’t stay for long. ensure youquickly get to each columnwhen they appear.
However, the main problem is that most of these places are likelyto bein open desert.Meaning, sandworm attacks will happenmuch more frequentlyif you’re not careful enough.
To decrease the chances of the sandworm appearing, take off any equipment you have that forces the creature to climb to the surface. This will allow you to have more time to harvest more Spice.
So, when you venture out into the open desert, you must have a vehicle. It’s the only way to keep you safe.
How To Collect Spice
As mentioned, there is an extra hoop you’ll have to go through beforehand. Fortunately, what you need is tiedto the main journeyof Dune: Awakening, so you won’t miss it.
To collect Spice, you need aStatic Compactor. Earning the schematic of this tool is done by completing thesecond Trial of Aql.
After you’ve passed the second trial and crafted a Static Compactor, head to any smoky purple column. Upon reaching the location, there should bepurple marks on the groundthat indicate Spice is in the area.
To collect it, bring out the Static Compactor andfollow the prompts on the purple sandto start harvesting for Spice.
You can also harvest using your hands. But, this is not recommended as it takes much longer than using the Static Compactor. If you choose to harvest by hand, it increases the chance of a sandworm coming up and attacking you.
Be cautious when using the Static Compactor because sandworms arehighly attracted to it. So, if you’re using this tool in areaslike Drum Sand, which amplifies your vibrations,it would not be wise. Consider going to open deserts that see less sandworm activity.
