After a pretty killer boss battle in the last episode, Raidou now needs to ascend the radio tower, Waden One, and destroy it from the inside in Episode Eight ofRaidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army. The journey there won’t be an easy one, though.
Be sure tohit the Goumadenbefore heading to Sakuradayama in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army to bring a demon that can make the most out of time spent Solo Investigating, but be prepared for a few battles using these demons against some pretty powerful foes on the way up.
How To Get To Waden One
Episode Eight of Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army begins like most others, with Raidou leaving Narumi Detective Agency once again. If you haven’t had a chance, be sure to hit the Goumaden to register yournew or improved demonsand fuse powerful new shikigami. You’re also pretty likely to be ready for a new weapon upgrade using the Sword Alchemy technique, too! Finally, feel free to stop in at Kounno-ya for a quick inventory top-up as well, if you’re low on healing items (or need some Sword Alchemy material - the owner has new items again!).
For this, you’ll need a demon that can use Read Mind, so be sure to have one in your tubes before heading out.
To get to Sakuradayama, the neighborhood that houses the Waden One radio tower, you’ll need togo to Harumi-chovia the express streetcar once you’re finished with everything in Tsukudo-cho. In Harumi-cho, make your way through town anduse the southern exitto leave, which grants access to the route to the radio tower. Speak to the guard that’s been in the way here since you first reached Harumi-cho, and they’ll finally be off, clearing the way for you togo to Sakuradayama.
Gain Access To The Tower
There’s plenty to see and do at the base of the radio tower in Sakuradayama, including tons of loot hidden in several of the tinier side areas around the buildings and shrine. Speak with the people here andread the soldiers' mindsto learn a bit about what’s going on as you explore and pick up the shimmering blue objects dotted around the map, before finallytalking to the soldier near the Waden One entranceat the north of time.
He tells you Munakata is visiting at the moment, and Gouto tells you it’s time to sneak in the back way, by way of the Dark Realm. As such,go to the Nameless Shrinein Shinoda, save your game and make any final preparations you may need, and then speak to the Herald of Yatagarasu to have her send you intoDark Sakuradayamafor the next investigative section of Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army.
Here, you’ll immediately bebrought into combatagainst a fewsoldier enemies, who, like the ones you’ve faced before, are ready and willing to shoot at Raidou and his demons from afar if you attempt to keep a distance between you. There are three of them this time, and each one has a machine gun, so you’ll need to keep an eye on Raidou and your demons' HP, since shots will be fired no matter which one you choose to start fighting first.
One of the soldiers focuses mostly on close-range combat, but the others move pretty consistently around the battlefield to take aim at Raidou and the demons. They’reweak to electric magic, so using Volt Order demons is a good idea here, as well asVolt Sigil for Raidouin his Sword Skills.
A good way to handle this fight is tofocus on one soldier at a timeand worry about taking them out like this. you may command your demons to focus on the other soldiers if you’d like to keep them occupied, but taking one soldier out at a time reduces how much auxilliary damage Raidou takes while using his sword moves at close-range on other enemies. When the soldiers are all dispatched, save the game and head up into the next area to begin the climb to the top of Waden One.
How To Get To The Top Of The Radio Tower In Sakuradayama
You’re likely no stranger at this point to needing to solve puzzles to progress through the story in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, and this one can be a little bit of a doozy. You’ll encounter plenty of demons along the route up the Waden One radio tower, so feel free to use them to farm combat experience as you ascend. The ultimate goal here, though, issolving platform puzzlesto climb the tower section by section.
To do this, you’ll need to split the responsibility of exploring the Waden One tower and its disgusting new decorative theme between Raidou anda demon on a Solo Investigation, as the demons that serve as the moving platforms have differing opinions on humans and demons, and you’ll often find that the moving platformsmove to different places depending on whether Raidou or the demon steps on.
Additionally, you’ll find occasionalblockades made of Hirukothat must be cleared before you can proceed. It’s a relatively simple battle, so use multi-target moves where possible to make quick work of these little guys.
The overall goal of each of the puzzle sections here is touse your demon to move platforms closer to Raidouand cleverly arrange a path of platforms that can move a human like Raidou Kuzunoha XIV around the tower to the other side. There aretwo ascension puzzleslike this, with plenty of optional loot to be obtained along the way.
Some of them can be accessed when controlling Raidou, but only demons can interact with the red crystals around the puzzles. They can also interact with the regular crystals that Raidou can claim, so there’s no harm in having your demon do a lap or two on its Solo Investigation to farm some loot - like incense and revival items - from the auxiliary sections of the puzzle.
There will always be one Hiruko that takes you back down to the lower floor, so be careful about getting back to the Hiruko that brought you up the tower into the current section of the puzzle.
Waden One: Lower And Middle Puzzle Solution
On the lower level of Waden One, you’ll find your first Hiruko puzzle for the chapter. You’ll need tostep onto the Hirukoto traverse the area. The solution on the lower level of Waden One is as follows:
Climb onto the last Hiruko at the end to rise up one level to Waden One: Mid, and proceed with the following:
Like before, save the game and head up to the final section of the Waden One radio tower puzzle in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army.
Waden One: Upper Puzzle Solution
The final puzzle in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a little trickier than the first, involving a good amount of backtracking as your demon to navigate. you may solve this section of the puzzle by completing the following steps:
At the end of this section, you’ll find a Dragon’s Fount and Nakisawame’s Tear, so be sure to heal up and save your game as needed, since the boss fight against the tough, status ailment-inflicting demon Mishaguji is just ahead.
