Nintendo’s amiibo originally launched in 2014 and has been supported by the 3DS, the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch, and now, theNintendo Switch 2. These figures can unlock in-game rewards, outfits, and more by tapping them on an NFC touchpoint on your Joy-Con 2 or Pro Controller.
Most amiibo can be used right out of the box, but the Nintendo Switch 2 allows you to also register them to unlock some extra benefits. Whether you justbought your first amiibo, or want to transfer your whole collection over from an earlier console, we’ll show you just how easy this process can be.
Some Amiibo, like Splatoon figures, require you to register them before you can start using them in-game.

Data can not be recovered from an amiibo once it’s been reset.
