WhileDeath Stranding 2: On The Beachhas a phenomenal story, it’s still a cargo delivery game at its core. You’ll be spending most of your time picking up cargo from a station or the ground and taking it to its destination while traveling on foot or a vehicle. However, the terrain in the game is quite rough.

If you aren’t careful, your cargo can easily get damaged from both the terrain and other PvE elements. One of the most important things in this game is to deliver your cargo in good conditions, and here are the steps you can take to help you with that.

How To Keep Your Cargo Safe

While there are ways to repair your containers in Death Stranding 2, your priority should always be to keep them safe in the first place. While you’re traveling across the regions, you canoffload all your cargo by simply detaching the backpack when you hold the triangle key(the top key on the right side) on your controller.

Whenever you’re entering enemy territory or a BT area that you have to clear, it’srecommended to offload your backpack and all the other cargo at a safe distance. This will not only help you move faster, but also make it harder for the enemies to detect you while keeping your containers safe.

You can easily find the offloaded cargo again bylooking at its icon on the surface or the map.

While it’s not necessary to offload the cargo on your body, it’s still recommended so that youcan have space for any other cargo you need to carry while defeating enemies. Of course, make sure you still keep your weapons required for the battle with you. As you progress through the game, you’ll also unlock the Timefall Shelter.

This can be created at any location using a PCC. Once created, all your cargo within its radius will be protected from Timefall, which is the rain that decays your container. It also automatically repairs all the damage to your containers. Once you have this structure, you’re able to place it anywhere to safely leave your cargo behind and deal with the BTs.

How To Repair Broken Containers

Eachcontainer you carry in Death Stranding 2has two types of health: Cargo health and Container health. Container healthcan be damaged from Timefall or when you run over it with your vehicles. When your Container health gets lowered, it doesn’t directly impact your Cargo health. However, it makes the latter more susceptible to damage.

Your Cargo Health gets damaged when youfall while traveling, get hit by enemy weapons, or hit your vehicle on a rock or a wall. It’s important to prevent damage to your Cargo health at all costs since this can’t be repaired. Moreover, you need to deliver your Cargo with five percent or less average damage to get an S-tier rating from the stations.

This rating impacts your relationship with the station, which means that your rate of gaining stars will be much lowerif you damage your cargo.

Container damage doesn’t affect the final rating whatsoever.

There are two ways to repair your containers in the game, and one of them is the Timefall Shelter mentioned above. Other than that, you can fabricate Container Repair Spray at any station or a Postbox. Once you have a spray, equip it from your tools, aim it at your backpack, and use it to repair your containers.
