How The Peaks Of Prestige TCG Works

Before you start learning about how the card game works in Wuthering Waves, you’ll first have to unlock it byreaching the Capitoline Hilltop in the Shadow of Glory main quest, which is the fifth act of the Rinascita story. Unfortunately, if you’re a new player, this will take you quite a few hours to finish, especially if you’re not skipping through the story.

You also need to reach Union level 14 for this event, but you’llalready have that by the time you finish the required story.

Once you’ve fulfilled the eligibility criteria mentioned above, you can take part in the event by eitheraccessing it through the event screen or starting the quest from the quest menu. As you go through different beginner challenges, you’ll learn a lot of mechanics that are highly important for the gameplay, and here’s a simple description of them all.

Echo Card Stats, Explained

Whenever you look at an echo card in the game, you’llsee three main stats on them: STR, DMG, and CON. Here’s what each one of these signifies:

STR

This refers to theoverall damage dealt to the enemy echoesonce the battle triggers. While the actual stat only has single numbers, you may roughly judge how high their damage will be in battle.

DMG

While you might confuse this with the STR stat, it has an entirely different purpose. If you win the battle, you can deal damage to the opponent based on the overall DMG of your alive echoes.

You cansee the DMG of each echo on the bottom right sideof the screen above your portrait in battle.

CON

This essentially shows you how high the defense of your echo is.Some echoes that rely on staying alive longer in battlehave much higher CON.

Outside of these stats, you might also notice some yellow dots on the top of your echo card. This shows you the energy cost required to use the echo. While on the card table, you’ll see your current energy on the right side. The game automatically gives you two energy at the start of each turn, but theleftover energy from your previous turn doesn’t get stacked.

However, you may gain more energy when youdeconstruct an echo by dragging it to the right side of the screen. You can deconstruct the echoes in your hand and on the table, but you’ll only get one energy from each deconstruction unless an echo has specific abilities to give you more after modulation.

When you deconstruct an echo,it gets added back to your deck, and you may pull it again randomly.

While you’re on the card placement phase,it’s essential to use every single card that you can on the table. When you start the fight, all your leftover cards will automaticallygo back to the deck and you’ll draw new cards at random in the next round. Instead of wasting the cards, you can deconstruct them and use your resonator ability instead if you don’t have anything else to do.

Resonator Tactics, Explained

When you first start playing the card game, you’ll only have Rover unlocked as your resonator, with subsequent ones unlocking as youprogress including Cantarella, Zani, Encore, Xiangli Yao, and Carlotta. Each resonator hassome special abilities to be used during the battle called tactics, which include one active and one passive ability.

The passive ability generally has a specific requirement to get triggered, and it canconsistently provide you boosts during battle if you base your deck around it. On the other hand, the active ability can be used in any round by consuming a certain amount of energy. The buffs provided by these can easily be the reason for your victory in battle.

Core Echoes, Explained

Outside of the normal one-cost and three-cost echoes, you’llalso have one core echo in your deck after the first few battles. These echoes don’t require any energy to be placed in the battle. However, they have some special requirements in the “Trial” section that you need to fulfill before you can place them.

Core echoes are an integral part of the deck, and they generally decidewhat other echoes you should be putting in the deck to make it work. For example, the Sentry Construct core echo requires three units with Flank Force activated on the table, which makes it important to have Fusion Warrior and baby Viridblaze Saurians in the deck.

Modulation And Special Skills, Explained

Modulation is one of the most important mechanics in the Peaks of Prestige event of Wuthering Waves asit’ll help you unlock various special skills on your echoes. When you look at the abilities of one-cost echoes, you might see them having one or more special skills, but they’ll all be inactive when you place the echoes in battle.

To activate these skills, you have to modulate another echo on top of them. Once the modulation occurs, the new echo will have the activated special skills of the older echo. Moreover, the overall stats of the modulated card will be thesum of the stats of both the echo that was modulated and the one used for modulation.

If you want to modulate three-cost echoes, you’ll have to do itwith an echo that has already been modulated.

Essentially, three-cost echoes require two modulations overall.

Once you place one echo over the other for modulation, the previous echo goes back into the deck. Furthermore, you can’tmodulate the core echoes.

How Does The Transform Mechanic Work?

Finally, as you’re on the card table in the event, you’ll notice adarker spot in the middle of both your and the opponent’s side. This is the transformation slot. Certain echoes have special abilities that trigger when they’re transformed, and these can range from giving your echoes certain stats to giving you extra energy.

If you want to get these benefits, you have to drag these echo cards to the middle, after which they get consumed and provide the respective buff. You’ll need a certain amount of energy shown on the echo card to transform them as well.

Once you have a bunch of echoes, it’s recommended to have multiple decks so that you can switch when you need to, but there are a few rules to this:

Outside of these rules, you have to consider the abilities of each cardwhile building a deck as well.

How To Get More Cards

There are mainly two ways to add more cards to your collection:
