While playing the career mode ofUmamusume: Pretty Derby, you’ll mostly be battling against RNG and hoping that your luck gets you some decent stats on specific characters. Since everything in the game is chance-based, you also have a chance to encounter an event called the claw machine during your run.
While this minigame appears at random in the URA Championship career, it can give you a ton of rewards if done right. Thankfully, once you get used to the game, it isn’t hard to beat.
How To Get And Play The Claw Machine
Unfortunately, there’s no way to guarantee yourself the claw machine minigame in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. Essentially, this game has asmall chance to appear whenever you’re triggering the Recreationon one of your turns. Recreation helps you get a better mood on your character, which will increase your chances of winning races and getting better stats.
Youdon’t have a chance to get the claw machinewhen you trigger Rest and Recreation during the beach event.
Once you get lucky and trigger a claw machine, it’ll take you to the venue where yousimply have to hold the big button with the right-pointing arrowon your screen. This will move the crane towards the right. The crane will descend at the spot where you stop holding the button, and if you time it correctly, you’ll pick up one of the plushies.
For a general perspective, thebig circle on top of your crane’s arms has to be right in the middle of your plushie. If it’s even slightly off-center, it’ll mess up the positioning and not get anything. However, even if you correctly place the crane and pick up the plushie, you can still fail.
You get three chances to play the claw machine game each time you trigger it, andthe crane’s speed increases with each chance.
For your first attempt, the crane will be quite slow and easy to aim. However, on subsequent attempts, both the crane’s speed and the impact it creates will increase. This means that even after you get a plushie,they’ll get pulled up with more force, increasing their chances of falling outof the claw.
Claw Machine Rewards
To get the rewards from the claw machine minigame and consider it successful, you only have to pull one plushie overall. However,your reward will increase if you get more plushies and trigger a big win. Generally, the rewards of this minigame involve three things:
The amount of these rewards depends on how many plushies you managed to get out of the machine. However, if you’re defeated in this minigame,you can also lose a bit of your mood.
