Revenge of the Savage Planet is equal parts biting satire, and brain-off whimsy. The entire premise of the game is built from a corporation abandoning you after lofty promises, while the actual moment-to-moment gameplay is plain and simple fun, giving you multiple worlds to experiment with. Plus, you can’t really die.

And with the ability to be revived infinitely, comes new ways to be exploited. With a humble ask from the Shama Lama, you choose to don his special gold test suit to see just how much stress your body, and the suit, can be put through. Turns out, this suit really isn’t all that good at all for anything but being destroyed.

How To Unlock The Crash Test Dummy Quest

The Crash Test Dummy ispart of the D.I.A.P.E.R. Program DLC missions, so it will only be available if you have that installed. Once you’ve gotten past that initial hurdle, you have to actually unlock it in-game. While some of these quests will unlock incredibly early on, the Crash Test Dummy mission is not one of them.

To begin this quest, you must complete one of the initial missions offered to you by the Shama Lama, such as Interstellar Geographic. Once any one of them has been completed, the Crash Test Dummy mission will be given to you the next time you visit the Habitat.

How To Complete Every Suit Failure

For this quest, the Shama Lama gives you a unique suit upgrade. This must be activated from the upgrades menu, and can be turned off again at any time. The reason for this is that this suit functions a bit differently. For one, it dramatically reduces your HP when in use to the default limit, regardless of the amount of Orange Goo you’ve gathered.

This suit also has a fewunique animations for when you are revivedback at the Habitat.

It alsodeactivates the upgrade that negates all fall damage. A wonderful hint as to one of the ways in which you must meet your demise. You see,the Shama Lama wants you to die, over and over again, to test the limits of the suit, and asks you to test out four specific ways. Except the definitions are not always as clear as you might hope.

Here arethe ways in which the Shama Lama cruelly asks you to perish, and how to achieve them.

High-Speed Landing

Ahigh-speed landingshouldn’t be the most difficult to perform, though it is one that can easily fall to the wayside if you have had the ability to remove fall damage active for the majority of the game. Which is exactly why this suit disables it.

All you have to do isfind a suitably high place and jump right off. With the reduced HP from this suit, you shouldn’t even need that high a location to fall from. Go splat and you will unlock the first of these suit failures.

Extreme Heat

This is another one that isn’t too difficult. There’s a lot of fire in this game, and other such hot things. Any of them can be the way to meet your demise this time around.

Jump into a pool of lava, let an enemy defeat you with fire attacks, evenshoot yourself with some Lava Goo. The means of achieving an incredibly high temperature suit failure are almost limitless.

High Voltage Current

This is definitely a more restrictive suit failure condition. For it,you must be electrocuted to death. There are no regular enemies that deal this damage type though, and you don’t exactly have access to electricity yourself. So how do you achieve this suit failure?

Well, you have two options. The easiest and most obvious is tofind an electrified mushroomand jump into it, or create a path with Ferrous Goo from it, and step into it. Both will electrify you into ash, and achieve another suit failure.

If you want to be particularly fancy for it, you canfind one of the jellyfish underwaterand allow them to shock you instead. This counts, though there is no extra reward for this additional effort.

Flash Solidification

The final of the suit failures is easily the most complex of all. Not just because the actual action is rather difficult, but the phrase ‘Flash Solidification’ is significantly more vague than any of the others that came before it. Initial thoughts might be tofreeze yourself, which is half-right.

There are onlytwo ways to be frozen in the game. By the icy plants that can be found on most planets, or from theflying ice enemies in Zenethian Rift. However, the act of being frozen does not deal damage, so how do you achieve flash solidification?

Specifically, you have to be frozen, and then defeated while you are still frozen. This can be hard to achieve with low health, as the flying enemies might kill you before they manage to freeze you. The other option is to freeze yourself with a plant, and then wait for an enemy to approach. However, the timing on this can be difficult.

The first reason is that you only stay frozen for about five seconds, which doesn’t give the enemy long to defeat you. The second is that theicy plants have quite a wide reach, and may freeze the enemy with you. It can be finicky, so it may take a few tries until you achieve it.

Once you finally complete all of these suit failures, the quest will be complete. It won’t have a reward by itself, but will bring you one step closer to completing the D.I.A.P.E.R. program.
