With so many Lives to lead inFantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, getting them all up to higher levels is no fast task. The game is a time sink, through and through. An excellent one, but a time sink, nonetheless.

There are ways to mitigate the slowness to some degree. This guide offers tips on “best practices” for each category of Life: Combat, Gathering, and Crafting. We’ve sprinkled in our own findings, so that hopefully, things will progress more swiftly for you. Here are our thoughts on how to level up those Lives a little faster in Fantasy Life i.

What Is The Level Cap In Fantasy Life i?

Thelevel capfor every Life in Fantasy Life i is100. Getting there takes some serious doing, of course. Getting there foreverythingtakes well over, well, 100 or so hours.

We reckon you’ll have plenty, if not all,Skill Board abilitiesunlocked by then. But maybe not! If that’s the case, then your job’s not done.

Take On Every Life From The Get-Go

One of our more important tips:don’t hesitate to accept every Lifeas soon as Lives are unlocked. This excludesFarmer and Artist, mind you, asthey’re unlocked later on, but that still gives you 12 to play with only an hour or so into Fantasy Life i.

Why go through all this trouble? For one thing, it’s one less task to take care of later on. But more relevant for the purposes of this guide, you’ll encounter monsters, gathering nodes, and crafting materials for every Life on a regular basis.

Just taking a trek down a path between settlements will be enough to start amassing opportunities for every type of job. Exploring Ginormosia will give you a heaping helping of them. Why notlevel them all up?

Multitask, Multitask, Multitask

Related to the above tip, multitasking can save you many hoursin the long run. What we mean by this is that you should beleveling Woodcutter as you pass all those trees, even when you’re en route tomonsters for Combat Life grinding.

The same general rule applies for everything else in the game.Ore veins and fishare everywhere the eye can see. As are packs of monsters in-between them. This tip applies more so toCombat and Gathering Lives in particular, but seriously, don’t pass up each and every opportunity to mingle in the grind with other grinds.

A Few Levels Above You? That’s Your Sweet Spot

TheEXP you earnfrom fighting and gathering isfar greater if the target is a higher levelthan your currently-equipped Life. While this applies to battles, the main takeaway is thatit’s more time-efficient to mine from a vein that’s above your level, and so forth with Woodcutter and Angler.

Sure, this is a bit harder. But bytaking advantage of Sweet Spots, you’re able to mitigate the difficulty considerably. Always take the time to find them. If your target gathering node is more than a few levels higher than you are, things will prove overly tricky, sothe aim should be 1-3 levels above you.

Craft Your Own Gear

We’ve been talking a lot about Combat and Gathering, but Crafting isn’t devoid of its own tips. The Blacksmith, Tailor, and Carpenter Lives are all crucial if you want to craft your own gear, and you absolutely should be.

This is the one surefire way to obtainhigher-quality weapons, tools, and armor. Don’t underestimate just how much stronger this stuff can be.The best gear in the game is always going to be a higher-quality iteration, and the better your gear, the faster your grind will be.

Rank Up Those Ginormosian Regions

The trick toquick grindingis towork on ranking up each region in Ginormosia. At one-star, the default rank, the level range for monsters and resources will be low. The more you crank these up,the better your foes and nodes, and thus, the more EXP you will earn.

Don’t go so high that you’re way above your present capabilities, but by the same token, always get to a rank that’s either in your level range, or a bit above. There is almost no good reason at all to leave things lower than that.

The one exception we can think of isif you need materials from gathering nodes that happen to be lesser in quality than your present level for something. In other words, maybe you need regular lumber for something despite being a highly proficient Woodcutter. If that happens, so it goes!

Your Buddies Are Your Best Asset

A few chapters into Fantasy Life i’s main story, you’ll unlock Buddies. These arefull-fledged party members who will join you in battle, while gathering, and when crafting.

Having Buddies ofanyLife - they all have their own Life class - is helpful. No matter the type, they can help out a bit in fights, buff you while gathering, and so forth.

Butget Buddies in your party who specialize in something you intend to do, and that’s when the magic happens. For instance, bringing along a Miner will improve your own mining.Taking a fellowAlchemistwill help a good bit while performing alchemy, yourself.

This may be the fastest way to level up almost any Life in the game. In fact, we’d stake good Dosh on it. If you’re not bringing Buddies, you’re slowing yourself down to a relative crawl!
