The Sims 4: Enchanted By Natureintroduces a new skill, apothecary. This isused to cure ailmentswhich are short-term conditions your Sims can catch from others, or be given by mischievous fairies. It can also be used to create draughts which change your Sims' moods and affect things such as gathering or skill building.
This ten-level skill uses a range of different plants, herbs, and fruits, as well as some unique items to create the concoctions. Most of these items can be found through foraging and some can be purchased. Here we take a look at all the items you’ll be able to craft, the skill level required and the effect they have on Sims.
What You Need To Level The Apothecary Skill
To begin, you’ll need anapothecary table. This costs just$100 and is functional off-the grid. There’s also one inThe GROM Exhibitmuseum in the Coast of Adhmor neighborhood, and another inEverdew near the fairy hub.
For your early concoctions, you’ll be able tobuy the basic ingredients directly from the table. After this, theeasiest way to get items is by foraging, which is completely free.
Foraging is random,but as soon as youhit level twoof the apothecary skill, you canforage specifically for apothecary items, reducing your chances of finding things you can’t use. However, there’s still a random element to foraging, so if you get overloaded with items like aura petals and acorns, youmay also want to forage specifically for plants.
The Apothecary skill can also beleveled with a set of three books,as well as by choosing theStudy Apothecary Cures option on the table. As with other skills, thebooks have a cost which increases the higher the volume.Reading thembuilds skill at a reasonable ratebut a little slower than crafting.Studying at the table is a free action, although it builds skill at aslower ratethan all other methods.
How To Get Emotion Potions
Emotion potions can be acquired in the following ways:
You can bottle: anger, boredom, confidence, embarrassment, flirtatiousness, focus, happiness, inspiration, playfulness, sadness, fear (scared), and tension.
Apothecary Skill Levels

Level One
Level one allows you to use theStudy Apothecary Cures interactionat any apothecary table, and toread Apothecary Vol 1: A Spoonful of Sugar, whichcosts $75to purchase. you may alsobuy basic ingredients at the table.
Basic ingredients available from the apothecary table are: aura petal, basil, daisy, lemon, lump of moss, and sage.

Level Two
At level two, you canforage for apothecary ingredientsby selectingForage for… > Forage for Apothecary Ingredients. You can alsopurchase the Apothecary Study Setdecoration frombuild mode for $110. It can be found in theclutter category. This level alsounlocks the following:

Level Three
Level three unlocks theEnthuse About Crafting Elixars social interaction. You can alsocraft emotion potions. These are made by turningany three positive emotion potionsinto aspecific positive emotion potion, or anythree negative potionsinto aspecific negative one.You can alsocraft the following:

Level Four
At this level, if you aregaining skill via reading,you shouldmove to Apothecary Vol 2: No, Don’t Drink That! which costs $150. You’ll alsolearn the following:

While crafting you’ll likely have noticed somedebuffs due to bad smells. At level five you’ll bemore resistant to theseand they’ll occur less. Level Nine
At level nine, thosenegative debuffs due to smells will completely vanish.You’ll also gain a furthertwo recipes.

Level ten is the final level and allows you topurchase advanced ingredients at the apothecary table.You’ll also be able toconvert any emotion potion into any other emotion potion at a 1:1 rate.
Advanced ingredients available from the apothecary table are acorn, lightning root leaf, and small critter bone.
