After your trial to earn the formal title of Raidou Kuzunoha the 14 inRaidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army, you’ll enter the very first chapter on a mission to help save a kidnapped schoolgirl from the Dark Realm and pursue the curse mystery in the basement of Daidouji Manor.
Raidou’s first jaunt into the Dark Worldis no small feat, but it’s a good time to confine early-game demons, enter the Goumaden for the first time, and begin to get your feet wet with the assorted side missions in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army.
Enter The Dark Realm
When you first emerge out into 1930s Tokyo after passing the initial trial that serves as a tutorial forthe new Raidou Kuzunoha, you’ll be directed toexplore the neighborhooda bit first, so you’ll do well to spend some time chatting to the locals. Your two familiars, Alp and Ukobach, will come in handy with their Investigation Skills here.
Check out the town as much as you’d like after leaving the academy, but make your way to theUshigome-Gaeri Bridgeand speak with your colleague here about the recent assignment beforeusing Igniteon him to get to the meat of the case. This will direct you to go up toDaidouji Manor, so hop on the streetcar and make your way over.
While there, Raidou will speak to a number of staff members who ask that he not go into this room or that, but you’ll learn how tosend a demon on a solo investigationfrom the menu to explore places Raidou himself cannot reach. By doing so,send Alp to the studyon the first floor and look around toget the photofrom the shelf in the room.
There’s plenty of hidden loot to find by having your familiars explore superfluous rooms; they’ll check the storage in these areas and potentially find items, so it’s always worth checking along the way.
Following this section of the investigation, head north intoKamishiro-zakato speak with a few schoolgirls at the intersection about their missing friend after using your Investigation Skills to learn how to approach the conversation.
They’ll tell you about Rin’s meetings with someone lately, but when yougo speak to Rindown the alleyway to the east past Fujiko Parlor and follow her to a secluded area, she’ll be kidnapped andbrought into the Dark Realm, and it’ll be up to Raidou to follow suit and save her.
Confining Demons And Grinding For Levels
Your first expedition into the Dark Realm has plenty to offer off the bat and can be a bit overwhelming if you’re coming into the game anew, but right near the entrance, there are a few key things to learn about for your sucess in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army.

Once you’ve saved and healed, it’s time to beginbattling the demons hereas they appear while you explore the overworld of Dark Tsukudo-cho. There’s a wide assortment of them available here, but when you first enter, Raidou will only have so many tubes in which to seal these demons.
Thankfully, you’ll begin toget more tubes as your level increases, which means it’s time to use the devils you’ve already confined togrind for EXP a bitas you run across Dark Tsukudo-cho exploring and collecting the loot dotted around (which is typically marked on your map by a small crystal shape, but devils with the Investigate skill can find items as they follow you around, too).
Explore and grind as much as you’d like, but take notice of thebarrier blocking you from entering the area near Tamonten Shrine, which means you’ll need to progress around the long way, back throughKarukogawa Shopping District.
Here, you’ll meet atrio of Obariyonswho would like to chat with you about being a devil summoner, and they warn you of a strong demon waiting up ahead. To stall your progress,the demons will attack as you progress toward the Narumi Detective Agencyon the map, and a battle begins. You’ll learn touse Pyro Orderto win the fight easily.
The Obariyons here areweak to Cryo and Wind magic, so bring out the right familiars to make quick work of thefew waves of enemieshere. After winning these fights and claiming your rewards, proceed forward, but with caution - your next obstacle is just ahead.
Nethergates, Explained
This is your first exposure to Nethergates,gates bound by elemental magicwhose barriers must be destroyed by the right elemental magic to proceed. For the very first one here, the game tells you outright toconfine an Agathion before entering the battle, since this particular Nethergate inRaidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Armyis weak toVolt Order demons.
Withelectric magic attacksin your arsenal, trigger the fight with the Nethergate, where you’ll learn all aboutbreaking elemental shields in battle. Following a toussel here with the keepers of this gate, proceed onward to the real boss fight against Tsuchigumo.
This is the colossal demon behind the gate near the Tamonten Shrine from earlier, so speak to it about Rin before triggering an impressive boss battle and leaving Dark Tsukudo-cho for the first time.
Enter The Abyss In The Basement Of Daidouji Manor
Explore Tsukudo-cho And Register Your Devils
After you’ve left the Dark Realm and come back to the regular version of Tsukudo-cho, it’s time toexplore the area for what’s newly been unlockedsince you were last allowed to roam freely. These new additions include:
When you’re satisfied,go back to Daidoiji Manorand speak to the staff again, andfollow the left path on the first floorto find a conspicuous study. Use a demon with Investigate tolocate a hidden switch to gain access to the basement.
Big Tarrasque And The Other Side
Down here, you’ll findBig Tarrasque, who asks for a specific kind of alcohol. Asking the staff upstairs reveals that a member of the manor staff has been sent to grab the wine from town but has not yet returned. As such,go back to Kamishiro-zakaandread the mind of the maidhere to learn what’s going on. Speak to her, and she’ll give you the wine.
Go back to Daidouji Manor and enter the basement again, butget ready for a tough boss battle against Big Tarrasquewhen you do. You’ll spend the battle using Pyro Order demons to gain the advantage, but it’s still a rather tough fight if you didn’tuse the demons outside Big Tarrasque’s area to grind for EXPbefore triggering the battle.
After the defeat, Big Tarrasque will then ask you for somePricey Beer, which is located in one of the guest rooms on the second floor of Daidouji Manor. Return to Big Tarrasque and provide the beverage, and he’lltake you to the other side of the mapin exchange.
Bring demons who can use Fly to obtain crystals on higher ground in this first area of the basement abyss.
After reaching the other side,Inspect the bookshelf in the cage, where you’ll findKaya’s Diaryhidden between the spaces. Read the diary to glean information about the Daidouji family curse, and then return to the living room totalk to Kiyoshiabout the diary’s contents.
On your way, you’ll be stopped by the demons that once were dolls outside the jail cell, whereGashadokurowill appear and challenge you to another tough battle. You’ll learn tojump to dodge, which will prove essential for handling this boss battle.
