RoadCraftcan be played solo, but after a few hours it becomes clear that this is a game that’s meant to be played with a group. Working together makes every job much more efficient, from building bridges to paving roads and everything in between. Even a single extra player means an extra truck working to build, optimize, and enhance.

Not only does RoadCraft make it easy to play with others, it also offers crossplay, so you’re able to get a crew together even across different platforms. Here’s everything you need to know about setting up a multiplayer session so that you and your friends can get to work.
How To Host A Multiplayer Session In RoadCraft
Before setting up multiplayer as the host, you need toload into the map that you’ll be playing on.Once you’ve chosen a map,go to the pause menu and choose Multiplayer. From there, you can set the parameters for your session.
Which Settings Should I Use?
There are two menus that let you pick your session settings. The first one,Session, is for the basics; how many players are allowed at one time, and whether the session is public or available only players on your friends list or who have an invite code (more on that below).
ThePermissionsmenu helps determine what players can and can’t do while they’re in your game, as follows:
If Enabled
Set Public Player Markers
Guests can set markers on the map visible to all other players.
Manage Routes
Guests can create, edit, and delete supply routes on the Infrastructure Menu.
Guests can place and delete bridges on the map.
Use Construction Depots
Guests can buy and sell Rubble and Resources at Construction depots.
Vehicle Restrictions
Guests can use any vehicles that they’ve unlocked in their own campaign; if unchecked, guests can only use vehicles unlocked and purchased in the host’s current campaign.
As the host, you can always take the above actions, regardless of whether you’ve disabled them for guests.
If you’re hosting a public game, it’s probably best todisable public route management, bridge planning, and construction depots, just in case you find yourself with players willing to burn through company resources and funds. If you’re playing with people you know, it’s up to you whether to enable these options or not.
Letting players bring their own vehicles is generally a good idea; if somebody has a Modern-tier truck at their disposal, you may as well let them put it to use!
How To Join A Multiplayer Game In RoadCraft
If you’d rather join someone else’s game, you can do sostraight from the title screen.Just choose Multiplayer, and decide whether you’d like tosearch for a public game to joinor pick a friend’s private session.
Public Games
When searching for a public game, choose the parameters that you want to play under, as described above. This will filter out any sessions that don’t meet your criteria; for example, if you want to be able to bring your own vehicles, you can set the filter to only pick from sessions that allow for this.
Private Games And Invite Codes
If you’re joining a friends-only game, and the host is on the same platform as you, you should see their hosted session on the list of private games. If not, back out, give it a minute, and check again. If that doesn’t work, or if they’re playing on a different platform, you’ll need theirinvite code.
Once a multiplayer session is created, the host gets an invite code that’s visible above the player list in the Multiplayer Menu.Entering that code while looking for a friends-only game to join will bring you straight to the host’s session, regardless of platform.
