Dune: Awakeninglets you live out your fantasy of living on Arrakis, complete with running from sandworms, recycling your bodily fluids in Stillsuits, and stealing loot from Scavengers. You can make your very own character, choose their backstory, and explore the planet of Dune in any way you want.
While the game faithfully recreates many aspects of the Dune books and movies, sometimes that accuracy can get in the way of your optimal gaming experience. After spending so long making a beautiful character, for example, you may not want their face to be covered up by your Stillsuit mask. Below, we’ll show you how to hide your helmet so you can get back to staring at your character.
How To Hide Your Helmet
To hide your helmet or other type of headgear, open up thesettings from the main menu. In thegameplay tab, scroll down to the very last item in the first category, before the building tab, where it says’Show Helmet'. Simply toggle this option to ‘No’ to hide your helmet.
Alternatively, you can more easily hide your helmetfrom your inventory. Open up your inventory, then press the’D' keyto see anexpanded viewof your Clothing and Utilities. On this screen, uncheck the Helmet optionunderneath your boots on the left set of items to hide your helmet. You can alsotoggle off the Eyes of Ibad effectfrom consuming Spice.
Interestingly, cutscenes seem to ignore these settings. For the most part, your helmet will be hidden during cutscenes, regardless of whether it’s toggled on or off in the settings. However, other times, your helmet will be automatically displayed, even if the option is toggled off.
