As you might already know, the main gameplay ofUmamusume: Pretty Derbyrevolves around constantly training your derby in the career and getting good stats on them for PvP races. However, before you can get some godly runs, you’ll also have to summon in various gacha banners to get yourself high-tier items.
There are mainly two types of items you’re able to get from the gacha system: Trainee and Support Cards. While the chances of getting a specific character or card are completely random, there is a pity system in place to help you get the featured items.
How The Pity System Works In Umamusume: Pretty Derby
Umamusume: Pretty Derby mainly has only two banners outside of the starter banners andspecific banners that you get if you have a two-star, three-star, SR, or SSR ticket. From these two banners, one belongs to the Trainees while the other belongs to the Support Cards. Unlike other gacha games, this one doesn’t have a specific featured banner.
Instead, new characters and cards arefeatured on the respective banner with a specific pity system, which helps you guarantee them. However, this pity isn’t an easy one. Essentially, you get one point every time you pull on a banner, and once you have 200 points, you’re able to head over to the exchange option at the bottom andredeem the featured item without spending any Carats.
The points you get from pulls areseparately calculated for the character and card banners.
This is quite a high pity count considering that abanner in Umamusume: Pretty Derby only lasts for about two weeks. Moreover, once a banner goes away, your points will reset to zero and all of them will be converted to Clovers, which you can use in the store to get more pulls and upgrade items. However, the price of each item in this shop is too high.
To add to this, thechances you have of getting the featured characteror card when you do get lucky andtrigger a three-star or an SSRarelower compared to the other characters and cards. In the case of Trainee, you may get 90 fragments instead of 60 if you pull the featured Trainee or exchange them with 200 points.
Once you acquire a Trainee in the game, you canalso buy their fragments in the Statue shop.
This starts at one statue for a fragment, but the price goes up after every 25 fragments.
Is It Worth Saving In Umamusume: Pretty Derby?
Considering the fact that the pity requirement is too high for you to hit if you keep pulling on every banner, saving your Carats is the way to go while playing Umamusume: Pretty Derby. Of course, you have to do a few pulls and use up the starting Caratsthat you have to get yourself some decent Support Cards.
However, once you’re past the honeymoon phase of massive rewards, it’s highly recommended tocompletely save your Carats until you get a card or derby that you’d like to get.
