Each of the Dál Riata Tribes inTainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalonhas a long and storied history, and a unique culture. They’ve weathered all sorts of problems, but that doesn’t mean they can do so forever, especially with the encroaching Wyrdness causing issues across Avalon.
The Sveinn are one of them, known for being the best hunters among all four tribes, and following behind the Horned God of the Hunt, the Stagfather. It seems their patron saint has betrayed them though, and a great tragedy has befallen the once-great Sveinn people. Only someone touched by the Wyrd can help them now.
How To Start God’s Cure
As part of themain quest, Divided We Fall, you’ll need tovisit the Sveinn Tribeand resolve their issues, like with the other three Dal Riata Tribes.
Their village can be found in thenortheastern corner of the Forlorn Swords, and thequickest pathto them is tostart at the Forlorn Swords Zone Two Gate fast travel pointif you’ve unlocked it, andfollow the main path east.
Upon arriving, you’llneed to speak to the guardfirst, but there’s going to be far less resistance than usual. Headup the wooden stairsand curve around to thearea with a man standing next to a funeral pyre.
Speak to Batraamto find out what’s happened, then take thewooden bridge up and away from him, and keep taking the staircases up until youreach a winding mountain paththat leads you to theSveinn Sanctuary.
Be careful when in the room with Glyrna. Due to a bug, she may be treated as a potential enemy, and you’re able to aggro her onto you if you accidentally hit or use a spell near her, which will put a Bounty on you with the Sveinn, and can potentially cause quest issues.
Unlock it with the key he gave you, thengo down inside and speak to Glyrna. She’ll tell you that you have topray at the three Horned Gods Shrines and cleanse them, then find the final shrine andcollect the First Hunt Trophybefore you can reason with the Stagfather.
How To Get The First Trophy
All three of theHorned God Shrinescan be found in theforested area east of the Sveinn Tribe Village, and they can be reached by following the path out of the village and to the east.
At each shrine, you’ll have tofight a boss after praying to them, and each shrine has a particular one, though they havesimilar movesetsand are essentiallystronger versions of a Bottomless, a miniboss you may have fought before:
Once you’ve killed the bosses andcleansed all the shrines, head to the fourth andlargest shrine near the center of the area, and you’ll find theFirst Trophy sitting among the boneson it. Pick it up andbring it back to Glyrna. Speak to her tocomplete God’s Cureand start thenext quest, The Breach.
How To Defeat The Stagfather
From here, you can eithergo ahead and enter the Unrealm of the Hunt, or you cango back outside, down to the main portion of the village, andspeak with Batraamfirst, who willask you to kill the Stagfather instead.
Return to theSveinn Sanctuaryandgo through the portalto the Unrealm of the Hunter. Follow the short path, jump across the small gap to the central area, and you’llget a cutscene with the Stagfather.
If youonly spoke to Glyrna, you’llonly have the option to purify him, but if youspoke to Batraambefore going inside the realm, you’llalso have the option to kill himinstead.
Regardless of the optionyou pick, you’ll have tofight the Stagfather’s Avataras part of the quest. This bossfights similarly to the Bottomlessand the three Golems from God’s Cure, but with afocus on powerful physical attacks.
It will generallyalternate between several claw attacksand a longercombo with several ground pound attacks, and itsmain weakness is its slow speed, as well as aslight vulnerability to Fire Damage.
ForMage,Archer, andRogue Builds, you’ll be able tokeep outrunning it fairly easily, but if you’redoing aWarrior Build, use its slow speed to your advantage andrun around to its vulnerable backwhen itgoes to attack.
Ataround half health, the Stagfather willsummon the three Golems you fought beforeat the Horned God shrines andrestore its health to full.
The fight will become more difficult, but thekey is focusing the Golemsinstead of the Stagfather, askilling all threeof them will eitherkill or weaken the Stagfather, depending on your choice prior to the fight.
They’re alsomuch faster than the Stagfatherandhave ranged attacksthat he doesn’t, so you cankite them awayfrom him andsingle them out while he tries to catch upto you.
As soon as the third golem dies, theStagfather will collapse onto the ground, either weakened or dead, and you’ll befree to return to the mortal realmthrough the portal that appears nearby.
How To Get Batraam To Attend The Moot
Use theportal near the body of the Stagfatheronce the deed is done, and you’llreturn to the mortal realm, and you’ll haveone of two routesto go,depending on your prior choice.
Whether you complete The Breach or not, you’ll need to speak to Batraam to progress Divided We Fall, but talking to him may not be listed as an actual quest stepfor either quest.
Purifying The Stagfather
Killing The Stagfather
If yousided with Glyrna and purified the Stagfatherinstead, she will thank you, and The Breach will be completed. You canspeak to Batraam, and he will refuse to attend the Moot.
If yousided with Batraam and killed the Stagfather, Glyrna will refuse to speak to you further, and The Breach will fail.Batraam will agree to go to the Mootafter speaking with him.
Once you’vedecided on the Sveinn’s path, you can return toGerf’hanr at the Capitaland inform him of the tribe’s decision. If you aresuccessful in getting the Sveinn to go to the Moot, you’ll recieveKing Arthur’s Gauntlets as a reward, and can either continue helping the Dál Riata, or complete Divided We Fall if they were your last objective.
