Limited-time events in gacha games are nothing new, and withUmamusume: Pretty Derby, of course, the latest event revolves around friendship. Brand New Friends features new story events, missions, and rewards, including two brand new Support Cards that you may level up through the event, including an SSR card.
You’ll have daily event missions and some that last the duration of the event. Complete them to gain enough points to unlock the story episodes and eventually the Support Cards. Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond have the most adorable relationship that plays out through this event, and you’ll get event-exclusive titles that can show off your progress.
Brand New Friends Event Details
The Brand New Friends event is available fromJuly 16, 22:00 (UTC), to August 1, 21:59 (UTC). It includes an exclusive story featuring the new Support Card characters Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond.
There are daily missions and missions that last throughout the entire event, and you’ll need to collect and complete everything within the time limit, as this is alimited-time event that only lasts for the duration.
The event comes witheight story episodesfeaturing these two races, which grant Carats and other rewards upon unlock. There is also aPrize Derby Bingo Boardwhere you may choose from a reward list and receive several exclusive rewards.
Event Bonuses
While you’ll most likely get through the event while doing regular content on your own, there are a handful of trainees and support cards that can grant you bonus points during the event.
Bonus Trainees
The higher your star rating for these trainees, the higher the bonus percentage you’ll receive during the event. Themaxed-out five-star [Beyond The Horizon] Tokai Teioand[End of the Skies] Mejiro McQueenwill offer the most with a15 percent bonusto your Event Points.
You will not receive an event bonus for any trainee under a 3-star rating, except for [Poinsettia Ribbon] Nice Nature.

Unfortunately, the event bonuses for trainees are mostly for trainees you’ll need to have pulled, as they aren’t from the basic pool of trainees available from the start.
Bonus Support Cards
There are several more options for bonus Event Points. you’re able to use the following Support Cards in your deck when playing through a career. Unlike your trainees, every Support Card will give you a bonus even if it’s uncapped. These are the following Support Cards to use for bonus points.

[Tracen Academy] Kitasan Black
Both[The Will to Overtake] Satono Diamond and [Fire at my Heels] Kitasan Blackwill provide thehighest bonus points as the featured Support Cardsfrom the banner during the event. Their base uncapped version is a 30 percent bonus, and their uncapped four-star versions will give up to +45 percent bonus points for the event.

Brand New Friends Event Missions
Knowing which trainees and Support Cards to use is the first step. With that, it’s finally time to tackle some event missions. While you’re going to have simple daily missions that you’re sure to complete by just doing your usual dailies, you also have Special event missions to complete to earn points and prize coins.

Completing all of these 38 Special missionswill reward you with theBrand New Friends titlefrom the Titles tab on the event page. Daily missions include logging in, completing a playthrough, and winning a career race as your regular daily event missions do.
Brand New Friends Event Rewards
There are several rewards you may get from the mission. The biggest reward you’ll want to shoot for is obtaining anduncapping the SSR Support Card [Just Keep Going] Matikanetannhauser.There’s also theSR Support Card [Messing Around] Nice Nature, which you can obtain through event rewards. Aside from the Carats available, you’ll want to gain the following number of event points to unlock the support cards:

300,000 Event Points
Between this, you’ll gain Monies and Winners' Sashes to help level up your trainees, statues, and energy restore items. The Roulette Rewards list includes Racing Shoes, Friend Points, Support Points, and Monies as usual. You’ll need to complete the Bingo Rewards line lists to get Carrot Jellies, Dolls, and Alarm Clocks as well.
However, the5-line Bingo rewardwill get you a copy of[Messing Around] Nice Nature, and the8-line Bingo rewardwill give youanother copy of [Just Keep Going] Matikanetannhauser.
Completing the Bingo card three timesandobtaining the cards through Event Pointswill gain youenough copies to completely uncap both SR and SSR cardsexclusive to the event. So, while everything else (especially Carats) is useful, you’ll want to focus on getting enough copies of both cards to completely uncap them throughout the event duration.
