Lies of P: Overturehits its climactic finale with an exhilarating experience you will be unable to forget days after your DLC completion. Arlecchino, the Murder Puppet responsible for the death of Venigni’s parents, makes himself available for the cathartic experience of serving his ego back to him on a Legion-Arm’s knuckles.

Having been responsible for Romeo’s suffering and eventual demise, this fight is just as deeply personal as it is thrilling. The stakes have never been higher, and the fight is so spectacular from its cinematics and thrilling, difficult combat that you almost wish Arlecchino were the final boss. Alas, we’ll have to settle for pulling his sockets apart in the DLC.

Fury From Above (Variation One)

Jumping into the air and glowing red, the murder puppet holds up both weapons above his head before descending on top of his target as a Fury Attack. Then, he crosses his arms over each other and makes an X-shape cut with a retreat. Often triggers if no damage against the player was made with the first attack.

Perfect Parryjust as Arlecchino is about to land on you. Through the second attack, dodge forward to stay in the puppet’s melee.

Player uses the strong electric attack of Arche’s Guardian to stagger Arlecchino in Lies of P: Overture.

Fury From Above (Variation Two)

Similar to above, but after the Fury Attack, Arlecchino performs the same swinging combination from Dancing Strikes (four-count) and then ends with a jumping spinning combination for two more strikes.

Perfect Parrythe Fury Attack and then prepare toparrythe following six attacks.

Lea tells Arlecchino to shut up as she blocks his attack and stares at his maniacal grin in Lies of P: Overture.

Hook Shot

Pulling his right arm back and up, he throws his hook forward and embeds it either in the ground or on the target. Using his leverage, he pulls himself forward to the hook and then performs a left-handed diagonal slash, dashes around the player, and ends with a thrusting attack that deals damage both on the thrust and on the pull back.

Sidestepthe initial grapple. Then, parry the slashandsidestep awayfrom the thrusting sword.

X Hook Combo

Attacking with a wound-up right-handed hook strike from above, Arlecchino begins to spin into a combo that follows with a horizontal attack from the left, a backswipe, and then a brutal cross-slash.

Parryall four attacks

Player targets Arlecchino as his rises in a blood reverie for his phase two transition in Lies of P: Overture.

Phase Two

Blood Artist Rises

Rising from the pool of blood, Arlecchino gathers blood energy around himself. He releases four waves of skulls shaped in blood and in pairs of two (eight total). After the skulls are expired, Arlecchino crashes down on the target and releases a delayed red wave that spirals, dealing multiple instances of damage. Arlecchino always does this as a phase transition but can use it more than once.

Begin sprinting and sidestepthrough the incoming skulls. Then, continue runninganddodge roll awayfrom Arlecchino.Continue backing awayto avoid his red wave.Throw an item.

Player cirtically hits Arlecchino and stabs him in the chest in Lies of P: Overture.

Blood Artistry

Both hands flashing with red energy, Arlecchino makes two beams of red light from each of his hands. He then jumps into the air and performs a spinning attack on the player three times. When he lands on the ground, he turns and delivers five more attacks in a frenzied rhythm.

The final part of the combination ends when he leaps into the air and delivers a Fury Attack from above. After he lands, he stands and slashes the area around him. That slash then detonates into a red wave of energy.

Player uses the Monad’s Rose Sword to defeat Arlecchino in Lies of P: Overture.

Parrythe first three attacks. Then, dodge forward repeatedlythrough the five ground strikes.Perfect Parrythe Fury Attack before dodging back twice through the follow-ups.

Stabbing Finisher

Pulling back his left hand, Arlecchino thrusts his weapon forward before following with a spin attack from the left, a diagonal slash from the right, and two quick spinning slashes. In a small delay, Arlecchino turns his claw-like weapon red on his right hand before thrusting it forward and performing a right-sided horizontal slash. The red energy made from the last slash detonates after a brief delay.

Parryhis initial attacks until you see his hand turn red. Then, sidestepthrough the thrust, dodge backwardthrough the slash, anddodge forward or backwardthrough the delayed explosion.

Stabbing Finisher (Fury Variation)

This attack is only the last half of the Stabbing Finisher above, starting with the red on Arlecchino’s hand. Once the energy wave detonates, Arlecchino leaps into the air for a Fury Attack.

Sidestep, dodgebackward twice, and thenPerfect Parrythe Fury Attack. Follow up with your own attack.

Claws of Damnation

Racing forward in a lunge, Arlecchino stabs forward and then performs two sweeping attacks as a follow-up. Then, crouching, Arlecchino’s weapons become cloaked in a fiery red energy that resembles Wolverine-esque claws. He begins slashing at the player from his right, combos into a left-sided slash, and ends with a devastating cross-slash.

Parrythe first three attacks. Then, watch the claws andprepare to parrythe next three slashes.

Merciless Claws

Turning his claws into the three-pronged claws from above without any opening, Arlecchino quickly slashes with his left hand and then follows with his right. Then, the claws disappear and are replaced with the singular dark-red appearance from Stabbing Finisher. True to the name, he stabs forward with the lit claw and the side-sweeps with a delayed explosion similar to the Stabbing Finisher’s ending.

Parrythe two claw attacks at the start. Then, sidestepthe stab anddodge backwardthrough the sweep and the delayed explosion.Throw an item.

Punishing Leap

Leaping into the air, Arlecchino performs an overhead downward strike with his left hand. Commonly used to close the distance or to punish whenever Lea is knocked down.

Prepare to dodgewhenever reviving Lea.AttackArlecchino.

Sawing Spin

Arlecchino begins with a delayed left-handed swing followed by a right-handed horizontal slash and an upward spiral attack. He sometimes performs two more quick-succession diagonal strikes (this does not always appear in the combination). Then, he crouches and turns on the saws on his back. He spins twice and then finishes the combination with a forward continuous cross-slash attack of his spinning saws. The Saw inflicts Break.

Parrythe initial attacks until the saws come out. While you should parry the spinning saws, eitherhold blockorrepeatedly dodge backward.

Murderous Urge (Variation One)

Beginning with a Fury Attack, Arlecchino runs toward the player and then performs an overhead attack with his sword and saws. His eyes then quickly flash orange before he reaches out to grab the player with his left hand.

When you see the Fury Attack,Perfect Parryit. Then, begin to sprint and dodge roll awayimmediately. Do not stay for an attack.

Murderous Urge (Variation Two)

Arlecchino spins and releases four spinning blades that stay stationary along his path. He then jumps into the air as a Fury Attack. Then, after landing, his eyes flash orange as he reaches out to grab, just as in the first variation. After the grab is finished (successfully or not), the saw blades begin to move toward and track the player.

Begin tosprint away.If not possible to escape the Fury Attack,Perfect Parryit and thendodgefervently away from Arlecchino.Dodge or Parrythe incoming blades as they converge on you.

Most of Arlecchino’s attacks in the first phase have a fluid rhythm to them. It is not an over exaggeration to say thatthe fight against Arlecchino is a dance. If you cancount a rhythmin the fight, you stand a very good chance at being able to parry most of Arlecchino’s phase one attacks regardless of the combination or speed.

Those familiar with dance will recognize that most of Arlecchino’s attacking rhythm is mysteriouslysimilar to a waltz or a Jive variation count: one-two (and) one-two (and)…

Phase Two attacks are completely different. They are frenzied andnot easily countedlike Phase One.

Blood Artistry is the best example of this conundrum, with an attack combination that changes count midway. Thefirst set is one-two-three(like a waltz), but thesecond half is not naturally countedas in a dance, requiring some precision with quickly repeated parries.

The best way to counter the notoriously difficult-to-counter Blood Artistry is to mentally cut up the attack combination into three sets:

Arlecchino’s Phase Transition into Phase Two is dangerous for those who aren’t expecting it. The key to Arlecchino’s Phase Transition iskeeping a distance.

While you might be tempted to dash forward into the energy waves, this attack is actually a multi-hitand spinning energy. And the explosion it makescannot be blocked. Therefore, it is better to stay away andthrow items.

The final attack worthy of noting is also in Phase Two.Sawing Spinis mostly a normal attack, but you have tobe careful of the final attackin the combination: the cross-saws.

This multi-hit attack isdifficult to Perfect Parry, and even blocking it the whole way could lead to becoming staggered or dying. The best way to handle this is toblock with the Perfect Guard grindstone activeor tododgeout of the way.

Arche’s Guardian, Electric Coil Stick, Lorenzini Bolt

Arlecchino is aparry-fest, and those who prefer to play with a parry-heavy style, as if playing in Sekiro, are going to have the time of their lives. Those not inclined to parrying or who prefer to dodge more often should invest inbringing the Perfect Guard Grindstone. This will allow you to get Perfect Parries in for even Arlecchino’s most difficult attacks.

The Perfect Guard Grindstone is especially potent when used against the Spinning Saw combo attack.

Shock-based weapons are the bestfor fighting Arlecchino. However, anything slow is going to be a disadvantage, so any weapons you bring should either:

There is a lot more flexibility in weaponry, however, if you are accompanied by Lea Florence.

Arche’s Guardianin particular is extremely effective against Arlecchino for the following reasons:

Lea will join you in this fight if you want her to. If you want to take this fight on alone, you can choose not to pick her up. However, we strongly recommend youfinish this fight with Lea.

While it does undercut the difficulty by a large margin, the cinematics and story elements are so intertwined with this fight thatit would be criminalfor any first-time fight against Arlecchino to be done without her. By not bringing Lea, you arereducing the epicness of this fight by 60 percent(and how else would we have Lies of Peak?).

If you are using Lea for this fight, here are somekey takeaways:

Because of thenatural rhythmof Arlecchino in Phase One, the first part of the fight feels sort of easy after all the challenges overcome in the DLC up to this point. However, Phase Two is where most players will struggle on account oftwo key problems:

The best way to overcome these problems with Arlecchino is toparry enoughsuccessfully topush Arlecchino to a Critical Hit.

With your Critical hit,Arlecchino will take massive damage, especially if performing the hit with Lea. This is thesafest way to deal damagewithout being punished by Arlecchino, who can saw through health bars like cheap plywood. Beyond the Critical Hit and parries, you should also bepracticing these helpful strategies:

Eventually, you and Lea will overcome the dastardly Arlecchino. Unfortunately, the puppet is not quite dead, as we all know from the present. However,Lea will give you rewardsfor helping her save Romeo:

These items are, in fact, all Lea’s equipment. And tracking down where to use the key later willgain you extra rewards.

There is a post-credits special cutscene. If you Skip during the end credits, you may entirely miss this scene.

Where Do I Use The Secret Room Key?

After completing the credits and returning to the game, you shouldreturn to the Past timelineandgo upstairs in Eventide Krat Hotelto the Gold Coin Fruit Tree. Behind the tree, you should noticea pair of gatesthat you can now open. There should also be a trail of blue butterflies leading you through it.

Enter the housebehind the gates you opened with the key, and you’ll find something special sitting on the table:

Listen to Lea’s Recollectionin full, and you will receive aspecial record version of SURVIVOR.
