There’s a lot more to do inPalworldthan just building a base and catching Pals. With the Tides of Terraria update, the game received several new mechanics and additions you can place in your base. From new aquatic Pals to a fishing system and even a full Terraria-themed dungeon, the update brings plenty of content.
One of the most useful additions is the Pal Surgery Table, which allows you to change a Pal’s passive skill or even its gender. If you want to optimize breeding or improve your Pals with the best passives, this guide will walk you through crafting and using the table.
How To Get The Pal Surgery Table
To craft the Pal Surgery Table, the first thing you need to do isreach level 36.Once you’ve done that, you may unlock its blueprint from the Technology Tree byspending three Technology Points.After that, you’ll need the following materials to build it:

30 Refined Ingot
To craft 30Refined Ingot,you’ll need a total of 60Oreand 60Coal. you’re able to refine these at theImproved Furnaceor higher-tier crafting stations. Ore can be mined from natural Ore Nodes or gathered more efficiently by building Ore Mining Sites at your base. Coal can also be found at specific locations in the wild or gathered endlessly with Coal Mining Sites at your base.
20 High Quality Cloth
To craft 20High Quality Cloth,you’ll need 200Wool. Use theHigh Quality Workbenchto process the Wool. Alternatively, you may obtain High Quality Cloth by defeatingSibelyx. For Wool, you can hunt or capture Pals likeLamball,Sweepa, orMelpaca.
How To Use the Pal Surgery Table
Once crafted, interact with the Pal Surgery Table to open your party screen. Choose a Pal from your party to proceed. The surgery interface will then allow you to do two things:
How To Transfer Passives With The Pal Surgery Table
After selecting a Pal, click the plus icon on the interface to open the Passive Skill Selection window. Here, you must choose one of your Implant Modules.
Implant Modules do not take up inventory space and can be reused infinitely. After selecting one of your Pal’s current passive skills, you can replace it using the Implant Module. Note that this procedure willcost 50,000 Gold.
Implant Modules are not consumed when used—they can be reused as many times as needed.
How To Change Gender With The Pal Surgery Table
The other function of the Surgery Table is gender swapping, which is especiallyuseful for optimizing breeding in theBreeding Farm. To do this,you will need a Pal Reverser.
With the Surgery Table, you can change your Pal’s gender from male to female or vice versa. This process does not cost Gold, but thePal Reverser is consumed upon use.You’ll need to buy a new one for each additional gender change.
