Crossing Through Crosshairsis a Challenge Course you’ll find atThe Junction, a strange layer inDonkey Kong Bananzathat is less of a level in itself and more of a passageway to levels below. While very small compared to other layers, it still has a few tricks hidden, including Crossing Through Crosshairs.
This Challenge Course is pretty straightforward too, with you just needing tostep on one moving platform, turn acorner, andstep on another moving platform. The catch? The world economy is crumbling and the festering melancholy of your soul makes it tough to concentrate on something as trivial as a video game. And also there aregiant lasers shooting at youconstantly.
Where To Find The Middle Bananadium Gem In Crossing Through Crosshairs
As with most of these short Challenge Courses, thefirst Bananadium Gem is at the start, and thelast Bananadium Gem is at the end. Further down we’ve got some tips for anyone struggling to make it through the course, but for now, let’s focus onthe hidden Bananadium Gem.
When on thesecond platform, you will come to a wall with aNeptunite wall. The game expects you to Kong Bananza into the bigger gorilla and punch your way through, which is a perfectly logical plan. However, if you look closely, you’ll seethe walls are climbable. Grab onto them andabove the Neptunite, there will bea softer wall to punch through.
Inside, you’ll find analcovethat houses thatsecond Bananadium Gemfor you to grab. Once you’ve grabbed it, you may run and jump forward to reach the end even faster, cutting out some of the time you’d spend drifting and avoiding the lasers.
How To Complete Crossing Through Crosshairs
The premise of this level is simple. You’re slowly floating on a very small platform, and the lasers hitting (and therefore destroying chunks of) that platform is an inevitability. The trick is tolure the missiles to where they can do the least harm, so as much of the platform as possible stays intact.
For the first stage, you want tolinger at the back of the platform. Because you’re moving into the laser fire, this means themissiles will often miss the platform entirely. you may continue this trick for the first part of the second stage too.
As thesecond platform meets the lasersand starts to pass them, thisno longer works. At this point, choose a cornerand startmoving just enough to dodge the incoming firewhen thefirst circle flashes and glows. Of course, the alcove itself will offer some respite too.
