Shifty Platform Roadis a Challenge Course level on theHilltop LayerofDonkey Kong Bananza, just the second layer of the game. It’s relatively simple in how it uses its mechanics, like many of the early game challenges, but it still has a trick or two hidden up its sleeves.
A trick or, in this case,a Bananadium Gem. While the first and third Bananadium Gems should be relatively easy to grab here - one being given you you halfway through, and the other right at the end -the middle one is fiendishly difficult, so you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled. Or, maybe more accurately, you’ll need to read this guide where we peeled our eyes for you.
Don’t worry, they recovered.
How To Get The Second Bananadium Gem In Shift Platform Road
Justaftergetting thefirst Bananadium Gemon the podium, travela little bit along the platformuntil the ground becomes covered with rock. Tear a chunk off of said rock andhead to the left of the platform. Look over the edge, and you’ll see aglowing cube rising up and down.
Toss the rockat it, and it willtransforminto rock, letting you jump downonto it. Here, face against the wall and you will seea hidden alcove to punch throughto wherethe Bananadium Gemis waiting for you. You don’t even need to worry about riding the elevator cube back up, because there’sa barrel there to shoot you back upto the main platform.
How To Complete Shifty Platform Road
If you’re struggling to grasp the rules of Shifty Platform Road, you’ve come to the right place. The Challenge sees you jump across several moving cubes to reach the end. The only problem is you’ll pass straight through the cubes if you jump at them.
This is because you need to transform them.Pick up any material Donkey Kong can carryandtossit at the cube, transforming it into this material. This will allow you to ride them along. They doturn back into transparent cubes of nothing after a while, but you should be able to complete it without rushing.
The latter stage of the Challenge sees you dodging thorns. Thesethorns can be destroyed by throwing chunks of rock or dirt at them, but that’snot necessaryto complete the course. However, if you’re struggling, that’s a simple way to make lifea bit easierfor yourself.
