The Confrontation Looks Like Hope quest inTainted Grail: The Fall Of Avaloncan be a pretty tricky one. Depending on what you do, and who you side with, this quest can be a dead end, or it could lead to a second quest which will provide you with a number of valuable items.
Moreover, starting the quest can be a bit of a puzzle in itself. You need to talk to an NPC, then get jumped by a swarm of bees. And to wrap it all up, one path forward is quite easily doable at a low level, while the other will require you to level up considerably. We’ll walk you through all of that and more.
Starting The Quest By Speaking To Broc
In order to start this quest you will need to speak to Broc. You’ll find this odd gentleman in the northern section of the map, if youtravel directly north of the Ruined Market Square, you will eventually run directly into Broc. He is standing in front of a bridge.
you may also travel north along the path that is west of the Ruined Market Square. However, it will take you through a number of hostile environments, including the Forgotten Cemetery, and the Abandoned Stronghold.
When you first talk to Broc, he’ll provide you with the dialogue options…
You need to exhaust these conversation optionsto progress in the quest. Once you do, you can move forward with the quest.
Broc also runs a shop that you will gain access to once you have exhausted the dialogue options.
Finding The Swarm Of Bees
Cross the bridge and head north, pastThe All-Mother’s Shrine(you may as well dip inside there while you are here and get the blessing). You’ll see a strange hive glowing in a swampy area with four stone obelisks.Head into this area, and you’ll be swarmed by bees. You won’t be able to see the bees, sojust swing your weapons in front of yourself. You’ll make contact.
Once you kill the bees, you’ll be confronted byanotherman named The Ghost of Broc Meala, who’ll give you the Bee Queen Invitation. Before you leave this area,gather the 10 Cobwebs from the hive. There is also a treasure chest beside the massive skull that has23 coins and The Winter Prisminside (you’ll need some lockpicks to open it).
Return To Broc And Meet The Queen
Head southwest back to Broc and tell him about the invitation. After ranting and raving for a bit, he’ll give you an extra set of his armor, and you’ll gain an additional 500 XP.If you skip this step then you will permanently lose out on that 500 XPand Broc’s second set of armor (though you can still get his first set, of course).
Now, head northwest from the bridge. On your way to the queen, you should pass over a strange bridge. Move forward, and you should stumble upon a corpse - loot it, and you’ll obtain theForlorn Frostbitten Bow.
Completing The Confrontation Looks Like Hope Quest
Head into the heart of the abandoned village, and find the queen’s servant - the Ghost of Broc Maela (that’s genuinely his name). Talk to him and you’ll be transported into a strange alternate reality. Now, while in this alternate reality, head back into the heart of the hive town, andenter the central building. You’ll finally be able to speak to the Queen. She’ll ask you to go kill Broc. At this point, there are two ways to resolve this quest…
By siding with Broc,you will lose access to a solid summoning spell and an incredible helmet, as you will not be able to access the Gifts for the Queen quest. So, if you are just after rewards, then you should side with the Queen. Additionally, the Queen is considerably stronger than Broc.You can easily kill Broc at a low leveland get Sting, which is agreatsword. However, in order to kill the Queen you will need to level up quite a bit. On the plus side, you will get more experience for killing the Queen.
Gifts For The Queen Quest
This quest simply requires you to bring the Queen Ethereal Cobwebs. Initially, you’ll betasked with bringing her Ethereal Cobwebs. With each batch you bring her, you’ll be rewarded with better items. I’ve listed all the rewards down below.

Queen’s Protector Crown
Once you have exhausted this quest, you can either leave the Queen to enact her plan for world domination, or you can attack her. If you kill the Queen, you’ll get ten jars of Honey another 1000 XP.
