But it doesn’t have to be this way! With The Nurture Of Shadows Quest, you will receive a free Galdur Pup pet, bringing you one step closer to unlocking courier pet functionality.
How To Start The Nurture Of Shadows Quest
Behind the Elderwood Stables fast travel board, in one of the previously empty stalls,is a little blob of echo. Interact with it to start the questHexomancy 101.
When you ask Tamala for help cleansing the cursed object you found, she first requests that youprove to her you’re able to handle magical items. To do that, you’ll need to haveat least one relic fully upgraded to level fourand show it to Tamala.
This will complete Hexomancy 101 and beginThe Nurture of Shadows.
How To Remove The Curse From The Object
The first step of The Nurture of Shadows is tocreate a charm that will cleanse the objectof the cursed infection. For this you will need:
When you give Tamala these items, she’ll give you therecipe for a Whitestone Votive. Next, you’ll need to gather some materials to use in a ritual toremove the curse.
This time you will need:
Gathering 3,500 infected essence will take a long time and will question your sanity, but you can do it. We highly recommendpartying up with friendsand havingeach friend equip a different relicso you can all share the buffs. This will make it easier to find and gather infected essence.
Once you have all the materials, return to Tamala. She will then instruct you toplace the candles around the object. Tamala will perform the ritual to draw the essence into the mushrooms you gathered.
After the ritual is done and the infection is gone,what’s left is a broken-down Galdur pup, but it doesn’t respond to you at all. Tamala suggests you go to theTemple of the Roots to ask The Gardener for help.
How To Wake Up The Galdur Pup
The Temple of the Roots is located in thenorthern section of Bahari Bay. Go inside the temple, then take theflowstone gates directly to The Gardener.
Tell the Gardener about the Galdur pup, and you’ll be given the Flow hub. Go back to Elderwood Stables,place the hub beside the pup, then talk to the Gardener through it.
The Gardener will ask for somematerials to repair the pupwith:
Don’t forget that if you’re struggling to gather materials for your quest, you canuse the Request Item feature in the social menu. Plenty of other players on the server are more than happy to help as long as they have the resources to offer!
When you have the materials, go back to the Galdur pup and talk to the Gardener again. After the repairs, the pup is still unresponsive. The Gardener will run a diagnostic, thentell you to return the hub to the temple.
When you get back to the temple with the hub, the Gardener informs you that the Galdur pup is actually acreature living inside the pup chassis. Unfortunately, the Gardenerrefuses to help you any further.
Report back to Tamala about what the Gardener said, and she’ll suggest that perhaps the creature inhabiting the pupsimply needs to know it’s safe to come out. She then tells you to ask around the village for ideas on what they find comfort in.
Travel to Kilima Village and speak withJel, Badruu, and Einar. Each one will tell you what they find comforting:Silk, Delaila’s cooking, and fish.
Next you’ll need togather the following itemsand place them around the pup:
After a few moments, the littleEcholing using the Galdur pup formemerges briefly to greet you, then goes back into the chassis and comes to life. Congrats,you now have a new pet!
