This quest is part of the Shivering Isles DLC.
How To Start The Addiction Quest
During the Understanding Madness main questof the Shivering Isles, Sheogorath will ask you to check on both the Duke of Mania and the Duchess of Dementia as two separate quests.
If you choose tocheck on the Duke of Mania first,the quest you will be looking for is Addiction.
How To Find The Chalice Of Reversal
Inside the palace on the Mania side,you will find the Duke, Thadon. Speak to him, and you will learn that he wants you toretrieve a special item called the Chalice of Reversal,but he won’t tell you where it’s located.
Instead,you need to find Wide-Eye, who can either be found in the throne room or the Halcyon Conservatory. Speak to her to acquire further information about the Chalice, and she will tell you that it is locked away atan isolated location called Dunroot Burrow, but you’re able to only access it by ingesting Felldew.
Dunroot Burrow is locatedjust northwest of the palace. Travel there and you will findan Elytra enemy at the entrance. Defeat it, thenloot Felldew from its corpse. Go to your inventory andeat the Felldew in order to be able to enter the cave.
From here, continue progressing through the cave and defeating Elytra tokeep a supply of Felldew to make your way through the Burrow.
You will get a notification when your Felldew is running low, but don’t worry; the cave is filled with Elytra enemies from which you may get more Felldew.
Follow the quest objective until you reach the door that leads tothe Sanctum of Decadence. Once inside, take the stairs up, deal with a few enemies, and thenpick up the Chalice of Reversal from its pedestal.
How To Complete The Addiction Quest
With the Chalice in hand,head back to New Sheoth and seek Thadon in the throne room. Speak to him and give him the Chalice you just retrieved.
As a reward, he will be thankful andwill title you as one of the Court of Mania, but as he said, there are no real benefits.
