The Lock and Key quest is a discovery quest, meaning that you’ll unlock it by naturally exploring the world and doing normal tasks, like catching bugs, hunting, or gardening. Here’s how you can unlock and complete the Lock and Key quest to get Prismbeard’s statue to place on your plot!
How To Start The Lock And Key Quest
The Lock and Key questcan be unlocked by catching aGrumpy Granite Rockhopperin Elderwood. When you catch the right one, it will drop theWater Key, along with the above note.
The Grumpy Granite Rockhopper is of common rarity andcan be found all throughout the Elderwoodsat any time of day. The best spot to find them, though, is in theDeep Woodsarea, especially towards the south by the aqueduct.
If you don’t want to spend all day chasing these rockhoppers all over Elderwood, the Honey Lure, if you’re able to get one,is going to be the quickest way to unlock this quest. Put one down on the southern side of Deep Woods and a bunch of Grumpy Granite Rockhoppers will start spawning while the lure is active. Just keep catching them one after another, and eventually you’ll receive the key and the quest.

The note that came wrapped around the water key gives you a clue to where to find the water chest:Go to the place where Revenge ran its course, Look to the waves and claim what is yours.
The clue refers to the hidden cave calledEobard’s Revenge, where Prismbeard once made his escape.
The entrance to the cave is in thesoutheastern corner of Okanaa Bog. Once inside, take the slide all the way to the bottom, then turn around. Nestled into the bottom of the cliffside is alittle cave with a pool of water and the water chest. On the wall above the chest the water symbol glows.

For this clue you’re looking for the cliffwhere you can better see Prismbeard’s shipat the top of the cave. To get there, go up the path to the right till you get to the top of the cliff. From there, go out onto the ledge on your left. Before you get to the end of the ledge, you should find the chest on the ground, underneath the glowing Earth symbol.
Fire Key And Chest
When you open this chest, you’ll receive the clue for the Fire chest and the Fire Key:Yer gettin' close, and the Flame’s burnin higher. So follow the light and look under the Fire.
From where you found the Earth Chest, turn around, then go to your left. Follow the path up to the door and look to the right. On the wall next to the torch is the fire symbol, andbelow that is the chest.

The slide is, of course, the slide you go down after you first enter this cave. If you’re just coming into the cave, before you go to the slide, turn right to find the Air Chestnestled in some bushes, with the Air symbol glowing on the wall above it.
If you’re starting from the Fire Chest, though, just go right from the chest andjump down the ledge, then turn around to find the Air Chest.
When you open the Air Chest, you’ll receive Prismbeard’s Statue, which you can place anywhere on your plot. Prismbeard’s note says “I have left you a companion for stormy weather.” Seeing as Palia doesn’t get storms, what could the pirate mean?
