You can get the job done with basic vehicles inRoadCraft, relying on the free rustbuckets that you unlock throughout the campaign to clear debris, build roads, and do whatever else needs doing. Spending the cash you earn from jobs on new, improved equipment, though, makes jobs much easier.

Upgraded vehicles are generally faster, more maneuverable, and more effective at interacting with the world than their basic counterparts. Dump trucks can carry more weight, scout vehicles can explore faster and have enhanced search functions, and so on. Here’s how to get shiny new trucks for your fleet, ready to work.

How To Enter The Vehicle Shop

The Shop where you can buy upgraded vehicles is a bit hidden. First, you need togo to a garage (marked with a blue zone) at any of your bases on the current map. This is where you can store and deploy your existing trucks, but there’s also aprompt at the top of the screen that toggles between the Garage and the Shop.On a mouse and keyboard, use Q and Eto switch between them; on a controller, use L1/R1 or LB/RB.

All of the game’s available vehicles are visible in the Shop, even those you haven’t unlocked yet.

Once you’re in the shop, all you have to do ispick an unlocked vehicle that you have enough cash to purchase, then choose theBuyoption. It will be immediately added to your garage, and can be deployed to the map straight away.

How To Unlock New Vehicles

you may purchase a vehicle if you meet both of the following criteria:

Some vehicles havemultiple upgraded versions, so if you’re close to having enough Stars for the next tier up, it might be worth saving your money until you’ve finished a few more jobs, to see what the unlocked loadout has to offer.

Some vehicles are only available for purchase if you own the appropriate DLC; these are clearly marked in the Store, with apurple banner in the upper-right corner.

What Happens To The Old Vehicle?

Buying an upgraded vehicleadds it to your fleet, rather than replacing the old one. That means that if it makes sense to have vehicles of the same type in two places at once, you can do so! It’s also useful in multiplayer, where the available equipment in the host’s garage is shared.

You cansell any non-Rusty vehiclefrom the garage as well, though you won’t get back as much as you paid for it. This is only recommended if you need some extra cash for a critical new truck elsewhere. Rusty vehicles arealways in your garage once you unlock them, so you’ll never be completely without options.
