Like many mobile games,Persona 5: The Phantom Xhas a variety of different currencies you’ll need to keep track of and even though there are plenty of tutorials, it’s easy to lose track of what’s what. There are ones for the gacha, the currency for most types of upgrades, a literal Money in-game, and premium currencies you need real money for, to name a few.
If you’re overwhelmed by the amount of currencies, have heard of a type and aren’t sure how to start getting it, or have got a new type and aren’t sure where to use it, we’ve got you covered. We’ll go over each of the game’s currencies, tell you what they do, and tell you all the different ways you can get them.
Every Type Of Currency, Explained
There are aton of currencies you’ll be obtainingthroughout the game, and each one has its own function with little overlap.Meta Jewels, both Gold and Platinum Tickets, and Platinum Milicoinsare specifically for pulling Phantom Idols, Personas, and Weapons via thegacha system, known as Contracts.
Everyother currency is used to buy different items, such as seeds and cooking ingredients in the case of Money, or can beexchanged for a variety of rewards at the Exchange Shop, which acts as a central hub for different exchangeables, like Clear Cognigems.
What It’s Used For
Meta Jewels
Meta Jewels are thefree premium currency, and their primary use is forsummoning Phantom Idols and Personasvia the Contract system if you don’t have Gold Tickets to use. Asingle summon costs 150Meta Jewels, while aten-pull costs 1,500Meta Jewels.
Certainpaid items can also reward you with additional Meta Jewels, such as purchasing the Premium Pass for the Phantom Pass.
Cognition Crystals
Cognition Crystals are a premium currency that canonly be purchased with real moneyin Shop Marthym’s, and their sole use is to beturned into Meta Crystalsvia aone-to-one conversion system.
Gold Tickets
Gold Tickets are a specialty currencyspecifically for the Permanentandnon-Dream Pick banners, and they areonly used for summoning Phantom Idols and Personas.
Platinum Tickets
Platinum Tickets are a more exclusive type of ticket, and they canonly be used on Dream Pick banners.
Platinum Milicoins
Platinum Milicoins are a premium currency used toobtain character weapons from the Contract Systemorexchange them for specific Five-Star Weaponsat the Airsoft Shop.
Clear Cognigems
Clear Cognigemscan be exchanged for 100 Meta Jewels, Everlasting Essence, Skill Incense S, Moon Crystals, Konpaku Gem 1000, and Thief Compendium Volumesat the Cognitive Shop section of the Exchange Shop.Each type of exchangeable has a monthly limit.
Violet Cognigems
Violet Cognigemscan be exchanged for a Five-Star Weapon Case, a Four-Star Weapon Case, a Four-Star Phantom Idol Select Ticket, and Meta Jewelsat the Cognitive Shop section of the Exchange Shop. The differentcases and Select Ticket have a monthly limit, while theMeta Jewels don’t have a limit.
Gecko Coin
Gecko Coins can beexchanged for Four-Star Weaponsat the Airsoft Shop.
The Airsoft Shop is unlocked by progressing in the Main Story.
Wingbeat Coin
Wingbeat Coins are used to buy items like Gold Tickets, clothing, and upgrade materials like Sun Crystals in theLogin Rewards section of the Exchange Shop.
Assist Reward
Assist Rewards are used in theAssist Reward section of the Exchange Shopfor a variety ofupgrade materialslike Moon Crystals and amax of 20 Gecko Coinsat a rate of 30 Assist Rewards per coin.
Konpaku Gem
Konpaku Gems are used topay for upgrading the levels ofPhantom Idols and Personas, as well as when upgrading Persona Skills, Weapons, and the main character’s Skills.
Money
Money is used topay for items around Tokyo, such asCapsule Machines or food from restaurantsthat provide you with temporary buffs.
P Coin
P Coins are used tobuy different Collection items for the Thieves' Den,and they can also beexchanged for rewardslike a Golden Ticket at theMerchant’s Shop section of the Exchange Shop.
The Thieves' Den is unlocked by progressing through the Main Story.
Schema Points
Schema Points are used topurchase passive skills for the main characterin the Skills Menu.
Skills are unlocked by progressing in the Main Story.
Repression Medals
Repression Medals areexchanged for different tiers of Persona Sealsin the Challenge Rewards section of the Exchange Shop.
Where To Get Every Type Of Currency

Meta Jewel
Completing Main and Side Missions.
Reaching every Synergy Rank on a character save for the third rank.
Raising Phantom Idols to level 30, 50, and 70.
Every two days from the Hoot-N-Loot Daily Login bonus.
Use other players' Assist Characters in battle, or have your own Assist Character be used by someone else.
Defeating enemies in battle.
Exchanged for various currencies at the Cognitive Shop and Assist Rewards.
Completing and opening the final chest from any Training Materials mission in the Realm of Repression.
Completing and opening the final chest from the Pursuit of Treasure series of missions in the Realm of Repression.
Completing certain Main and Side Missions.
Completing tasks in the City, such as working at the Convenience Store or the Flower Shop.
Register Personas in the Persona Compendium in the Velvet Room.
Completing and opening the final chest from any Persona mission in the Realm of Repression.
